I must have been at work when the outage happened because by the time I got home everything was working fine. Was surprised to receive the email from the CEO.

Received an email regarding the outage from yesterday. Never ever received something like that before. All I can say is... awesome service guys. Keep it up.

Thanks for the positive feedback here. We're not in the game of finger pointing or sweeping things under the rug. We've built our own network from the ground up to rival the big names in the industry, and we're proud of that- 99.995%+ core operational uptime is our goal. Now if something happens and we can't deliver on that promise, I'd much rather be transparent and honest with you.

You must be special because us plebs received no such email..

Your email address must have somehow not made the list. Will look into this.

Paying slightly more than the dirt cheap providers, but hell i'm a happy man with the service

Even though vumatel seem to like disconnecting me once a week now

It's something companies don't fully grasp the bigger they grow, clients can be exceptionally tolerant if you keep them informed, even if it's bad news

Not that I could see for the bit that I was watching (my son was playing).

Vuma Trenched

What platform? PS4 or PC and also what area are you? I am in CPT Vuma Trenched. If you could check for about 15mins and see if their is packet loss. You will see in the debug settings on screen. Mine drops 1 o 2%

So is this a websquad isp thing? If we both down..

Looking into this now. KZN GPON clients haven't shown any drops (They use PPPOE, so easy to check session duration). Probably a backhaul issue on Trenched network.

Update: Definitely a trenched issue. Our logs are showing multiple drops on the first hop after our Vumatel handover in the past Half hour. I've escalated to Vumatel NOC.

@websquadza so I am coming to my whits end here. It seems like from 5pm the line slows down bad and only comes right again with no buffering when I jump into bed about 11pm, I have constant buffering issues when trying to watch my overseas stream provider TV. When I run a speed test the speeds are still fast, I'm on the 1Gbps for exactly this reason trying to avoid this buffering issue as that's all I use the line for is for streaming TV. I have a decent router, upgraded all connections to wired using cat 7 lan cable. Now most people will blame the server I'm connecting to or whatever but here is where it gets me irrate, is that I can put my piece of turd phone on hot-spot on vodacom Lte and run a speed test which just hit 14Mbps local and using my media player connected to the phone wireless via hot-spot guess what, no buffering at all! Go figure, is fibre really that **** in this country that a 1Gbps line cannot stream without buffering what lte at 14Mpbs streams flawlessly! Probably answered my own question and need to invest in a massive data contract from vodacom.

Hi. Thanks for your post. Can you please update your ticket with us with whichever streaming service you are using (or server details)? There is definitely no congestion on our network - which is why you don't see other people complaining, and all your tests submitted have been within range. While it may work on Vodacom, it could be because of different return routes on the server's side. It is possible that traffic flowing to our network runs over a different path to Vodacom's. Once we establish what servers you are connecting to, we can investigate what the issue is (and escalate this to the relevant hop if necessary).
