Issue identified and sorted out.

We replaced one of our core switches in Durban today, however, the replacement unit we had on hand in the area seems to be creating more issues than good for KZN clients. We're shipping down another unit from JHB first thing and will arrange for a replacement during the course of tomorrow. We do apologise for the inconvenience caused by this device. We're moving as much traffic off it as we can for now.
Great thanks for the feedback. Was definitely not seemless streaming and browsing experience here. I am just not sure how to identify what's the issue. So chuffed we got you here for that hehe I'm presuming because of that faulty switch is why durban currently has 20ms local pings

We landed up disabling the KZN core and running all client traffic through JHB last night. So an increased latency to local (KZN) traffic at the moment.

Our techs are already on site at the DC, the replacement switch should be there in 30 mins or so. We’ll update as soon as the switch over is complete.

KZN Maintenance Update: Equipment replacement is complete. KZN Core is back up and running. We're monitoring closely, but services fully restored.
Thanks pings back to normal here.
Edit: ping to new York is about 10ms slower for what its worth.. 248ms, london is same as nml 168ms

@websquadza - don't wanna be that guy, but I assume we are going to get some communication around Octotel price changes in due course? I see some other ISPs have already released new pricing info.

My internet just died. Anyone else’s internet just die?

@websquadza - what is happening man, this seems to be a frequent thing lately where my internet just dies. Please urgently advise.

No issues here. Don't see any area outages on Vuma either. Is your LOS light red or green? If it's red, please log a ticket with support.

Pricing is with our commercial team at the moment. We'll send out a notice during the course of the week.

I can barely browse let alone log a ticket. Please can you look into this urgently. My wife has a zoom meeting at 2pm.

Looks like a backhaul issue again. Weird though, I'm seeing sessions stable for up to 5 days and yours having dropped in your area. Will send a ticket to Vuma NOC

Seeing some loss to international today for some reason. Not really very visible on this MTR but feel it in game:

Cleared up again. Either a blip or was me disabling ipv6 after trying it out. Either way, I'll take it :)

I think this was more a blip (upstreams are still working on completing the integration and route selection with PCCW). The guys worked on this throughout the weekend and should be smoothing out now. Definitely not v6 related - think of the v4 and v6 as two parallel networks.

Would love feedback on the v6 as time progresses.

Speaking of IPv6 - we're running a limited trial of IPv6 tunnels (6to4) for clients on the Vumatel Trenched network. Be warned, this is a completely manual process, so configs may take some time Send a ticket to support @ websquad.co.za requesting this or PM me.

Emergency Network Notification (At Risk):

We have just been notified by our upstreams that WACS will be conducting emergency maintenance this evening.

Maintenance Window: 20:00 - 01:00 (5 hours)

Effect: Should there be any outages, we will fail over to the EASSy path - users will experience increased latency during this time

We will, as always, be monitoring this closely to ensure things run smoothly.

Yea my steaming all day has been completely shite. I usually stream from USA servers, and it's completely unwatchable and to my distaste ha w reverted to dstv now, being local and low and behold even that is buffering.. The speed tests are all great though.. What is going on..have also experienced drop outs today. Is this the new switch that was replaced?
