Also of interest is that Cloudflare seems to be routing me to DBN?

https://www.udemy.com/cdn-cgi/trace returns:

@websquadza Quick question RE v6:

For v4, I've manually configured my DHCP server to assign 1.1.1.1 as the primary DNS server, since I have a <1ms ping to it, being in CPT.

For v6, they recommend either 2606:4700:4700::1111 or 2606:4700:4700::1001 - but both are around 26ms latency-wise, so obviously located in JHB.

Is there a v6 equivalent that's located closer?

Picked up a small issue with v6 tables on the CPT core. Sorted that out. You should see local latencies to Cloudflare's v6 DNS service there.

Speaking of IPv6 - we're running a limited trial of IPv6 tunnels (6to4) for clients on the Vumatel Trenched network. Be warned, this is a completely manual process, so configs may take some time Send a ticket to support @ websquad.co.za requesting this or PM me.
If you guys are able to sign up and get this working, do it!

I sent you a PM about this if you could please respond, think it was buried

IPv6 is a new addressing scheme - the world has pretty much run out of IPv4. So new services will increasingly be brought up on IPv6. Most mainstream services already support IPv6. There are also a ton of benefits like cutting out NAT, more efficient routing etc. I forgot, what router do you have again?
Would I be able to go on this trial of the v6 if its going to benefit my streaming I'm in..

If it works on Asus/Merlin id love to try it out. Im on Vuma Aerial though

You can test by enabling Native IPv6 on the PPP interface - it should work. We've had some issues on this platform though.

We're going to try 6to4 on a client with the same setup and see if it works. That could be a solution.

A heads up to all clients. Lockdown Double Up promos are coming to an end tonight. Evotel, LA and Vuma Aerial clients, your lines will be downgraded to their original speeds at midnight. Vuma trenched will be a phased approach over the next few days, starting midnight tonight.

A big thank you to all FNOs who participated in this initiative - making working from home that little bit easier.

Vumatel Client Notice: Vumatel have extended the following promotion to clients who would like to retain their increased speeds after the 31st July 2020.

Should you wish to continue enjoying your faster speeds (and I know you do), please contact us to upgrade your line and get this upgrade for free, for up to two months.

  • For Vumatel clients who would like to retain the doubled up speed going forward - please place your upgrade order on or before 2nd August 2020 (our team will be available throughout the weekend to assist with this, including Sunday)
  • Your upgrade will be free for the next two billing cycles (IE, you will continue paying for your old package during August and September 2020)
  • Please note that you need to retain this upgrade until at least the 31st October 2020 to qualify - if you downgrade before this, we will back bill you for the higher package
  • You will be billed the cost of your upgraded speed from 1 October 2020
  • For the sake of clarity (I know the above is a little confusing, it took us some time to clarify it): if you upgrade (eg. to 10/10 to 20/20 Mbps) before 2nd August 2020, we will continue billing you for your current package (10/10 Mbps) until 1 October 2020, but you will receive the speeds of the upgraded package (20/20 Mbps) immediately (well as soon as Vumatel process your upgrade). You may not downgrade before 31 October 2020, or we will be forced to back bill you
Please send your upgrade requests to [email protected], or can be requested via my.websquad.co.za (open a ticket) - please don't phone us for this upgrade, our weekend lines need to remain open for support queries.

What would it cost to stay on 200/200, keeping in mind i done the 100/10 > 100/100 once off upgrade ( this is confusing now) :)?

Haven't tested much, but noticed zoom isn't working, neither is speedtests to London.
