WebAfrica Capped ADSL

Oh dear WA. Buffering youtube videos today (Feels like I'm back at afrihost). I have a 40 meg vdsl line, with your 300 gig capped home product. No DNS gimmicks. Holding on at your support desk now for 10 minutes (still holding while typing this message).....Boy seems I signed up to the wrong ISP.

I've passed this issue to a senior to investigate and resolve. He'll be in touch shortly. Sorry for the bad and rocky start :(
 
Sorry guys. New support engineer contacted me, sent me the exact same email as Adam last night. Still experiencing slooowww youtube. Cant play video without buffering...

Any traffic getting routed to JHB gets borked. I Got a 20mb business capped account.

I used to keep my account on permanent cancellation notice and then just before the end of the month I would revert the cancellation and then cancel again. In effect I could exit at the end of every month. However last month I forgot to revert, it cancelled and I created a new account which will only cancel at the end of next month.

But that is how one works with these types of accounts. Always keep it on cancel requested.

Right now I have a Vox Fat Pipe but first I am burning through the 20GB prepaid I have on Afrihost. It works surprisingly well.

That is a standard template that our guys send to replicate the problem. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find our service safisfactory :( and our will contact you with more information of what can be from here.
 
Sorry WA? What service? The template you refer to was submitted last night! After I had NO feedback, I phoned again to enquire whats going on, only to receive this template mail again! Even now, I've had no response to my original call logged....really bad service

Did the same. Also cancelled. Did not last even two weeks! Joined from Afrihost as I was told WebAfrica is better, but I should have looked at this forum. Same nonsense here. At least Afrihost technical support is WAAY better.

WA have this 1 calendar month kark as well, but I pay via EFT. They can get knotted, I'm not paying for another month for a service that

1. Is totally shocking
2. I'm not going to be using

Web Africa Capped VS Afrihost Prepaid VS Vox Fat Pipe Capped
Same 10mbps line, same Pace router, same AMD computer, same Windows 8.1 and Chrome software

That's right - almost 13mbps on a 10mbps line. Vox is 4.2mbps FASTER than the rest.

I only use torrents.
 
Is Durbanville/Kenridge area borked ? I've not had problems with WA for a few months until this morning. 4 Meg line:

My VOX account runs fullspeed. I'd rather not use VOX because I am losing rollover data when I still have lots of data left on my WA capped account.
 
Check how Web Africa shape Windows Updates. This is traffic via our WSUS server.

Nah been like this for months, only bothering to post it now. I've got weeks worth of graphs showing our WSUS hating life during business hours but full stream between 01:00 and 08:00
