WebAfrica Capped ADSL

Trying to DL from a new server, and things are dead (paid and free news server).

What is happening WA? Yes, I know this is a best effort service, but...
 
speed test just keeps timing out to international, what is going on there is no info on your Network Status.
 
Support dude said they are getting more reports. Put me on hold for ten minutes and said that. Didn't leave me with a lot of confidence ...
 
I think it could be an IS problem. I'm at work (not on WebAfrica), but international is very slow. We're directly with Internet Solutions Fibre. I switched to my Telkom Mobile 4G router and things are fine there.

Identified - DDoS attack traffic has impacted international throughput. Mitigation efforts are in place and action will continue to be taken to mitigate against the attack and revert all speeds to normal with cooperation with international partners.

WA Business Capped *** slow tonight. I keep on thinking we should move to another ISP ...
 
Not so much of a rant about the actual service, since its been running pretty well for a long damn time...


But seriously, I have to phone some random call centre to cancel the damn service because they want to understand why I want to cancel? Thats just bollocks.

I told them one of my reasons was because I have to phone them to cancel the service.

Tried to cancel online Friday evening the 30th and ... nope you can't cancel. So because of the calendar month notice I'll have to wait another month.

Unethical imo.
 
The phone-to-cancel is really annoying yes. When I did that last month, the number wasn't working. I then asked via online chat what I can do and they gave me a different number (I think it was for sales), but I later tried again and then it did work. The person on the other side was friendly and didn't try to convince me to not cancel, which is a small plus.
 
I sent an email to cancel my WA services last night. Was happy enough with WA, just took the Telkom promo of 4mb uncapped adsl month to month ar R599 all in. Today when I checked to see why I had not received any confirmation of receipt, got the long story. It's somewhere in the queue of emails not read ( can't remember waiting long when I joined them) , I can do it right now on the phone with the consultant. All good, however, the TERMINATION IS END OF APRIL, 60 days notice . Not cool Web Africa.
