it is better today.
last night my pings were fine, http was terrible, things like itunes and steam were dead.
Seems like we're experiencing a temporary issue on one of our international links, should be back up shortly.
More updates to follow on the status page and forum link I posted above.
Been a terrible evening for streaming, couldn't even watch a 400 Kbps stream between 6-10 PM when I gave up. Speedtest says I have 2 Mbps down. I did 4.4 GB during D+ so it's not my line.
Test conducted on 15 June 2011 19:57:57
Download Speed: 5773 kbps (721.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 521 kbps (65.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 43 ms
Test conducted on 15 June 2011 19:59:09
Download Speed: 5608 kbps (701 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 498 kbps (62.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 168 ms
This is shocking:

On a 4 meg line.
My download speeds are getting close to 20 kbs at best.
WA seems to have gone quiet on this front - not a good sign.
@detritus These results look fine from my end, you happy with the speeds and latency from your perspective too?
Hi Jeff, I am very happy with my results. I posted these to show that the WA network is not all doom and gloom. I should have been a bit clearer on that point.
Hey Fulton,
I've created an escalation for our DSL and Engineers guys to have a look at things from our side.
It was good while it lasted.
I signed up with their dsl complete titan package. Then moved on to Titan 2.
Since the RED packages came into play. Speeds are horrible.
The only question i have is, if i cancel now, will i be charged for July ?
I want to take my account back to Telkom and try my luck with other capped account providers than can give me max speed.
Oh , one more thing. Is there any per gigabyte package left at W.Africa that isn't subject to their recent bandwidth shaping rules ?
Oh dear, it appears my modem had synced at low speads, after modem reset i am flying again !
Now, about cancelling that cancellation ...
