Weight Loss/ Gain thread Dec 2014 - 2015

Shusay= Thor?

Seems odd someone would join today just to back Thor up :D

I am not Thor and I'm not backing him up. But I guess having a contrary opinion does not sit well with the flock.

Anyway I'm out, I'm sure I can find more interesting walls to bang my head on.

Oh and Drewchan, are you aware that at the bottom of every threads it brings up a selection of "similar threads"? And that many similar threads to this one are started by... you? Hell you click on one and it's like jumping down a rabbit-hole of eating disorders. See a dietician man, you need proper help not endless threads on a forum.

2/5 for me, and one of them is last year's iteration of this exact thread.

Bodybuilders understand a ****load more about nutrition than desk jockeys, and they have decades of proven results behind them.
.
Oh yes, the people that even abuse Thyriod medication to try and "cut". Decades and decades of substance abuse and limpdicidus. Those are the people I want advice from. Have not met a smart bodybuilder. They seem to try and make up for many things with the gross bodies they display. Shame man.

Because no vegan ever wanted to gain or lose weight, right?

With a High protein diet.... let me think.

Is your butt also thor?
Clone.

Not in this context, no.

I believe it is correct but I've been wrong before :)
comeback = response
come back = return of jizz

Anyway, I understand where he's coming from. He's passionate about the subject and I think he and Thor are/were trying to impart knowledge that (from their understanding) would help people. They've obviously gone about it the wrong way, but I get what the intention is. It's like Jehovah's Witnesses. They don't want to go door to door, but they also don't want you to go to hell.

Thank you for at least this understanding.

NOw I'm out. Good luck to all.

I think that is what is called a thread crap. Mods I think that deserves a warning.

Anyway, I currently weigh 88kg. I'm 1.86m tall, so my BMI is 25.4.

What I really want to do is cut my body fat percentage to less than 15%, and build muscle. I'm actually not too concerned if my weight drops or increases, as long as I look better in the mirror.

But, for the sake of a goal, let us say that I want to weigh 80kg by the end of the year.

I hope you make your goal. Why not ask Drewchan to add you to the list?

Thanks. Do I need to PM him?

I am trying to cut down my carbs, will give it a while to see if it makes a difference.

Currently my breakfast consists of two big spoons of wheat bran downed with a glass of water ( for fiber) and - wait for it - home made sugar free peanut butter ice cream.

Ice cream for breakfast sounds crazy right? Until you consider that it has ZERO added sugar, and almost all of the calories in it will come from fat and protein. The batch I made on Sunday was made with 250ml of milk, 500ml of cream, 200g of smooth sugar free peanut butter, and 6 egg yolks. The peanut butter, milk and cream all contain a little bit of carbs, but not much. The wheat bran also contains carbs, again not a lot. I divided the resulting ice cream into 8 servings (using a knife). According to my calculations, it should be around 400 calories per day. I must say, I do feel tired during the day after eating that ice cream - I wonder if it is simply insufficient calories or if my body is not used to be being starved of carbs? I used to eat Bokomo Bran Flakes for breakfast everyday, with no sugar added. I don't use any granulated sugar, but I have a weakness for chocolate. If I can stay off the brown stuff for a month, and continue working out, I think I can make some real gains.

This weekend I think I will bake some homemade bread. I want to attempt to make a super low carb banana bread. Currently my lunch consists of a small container of roasted unsalted nuts (usually cashews but sometimes almonds) and a peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat low GI bread. I'm thinking that if I were to make bread, I might not even use any flour at all. And definitely no sugar. Although I suppose if it has no flour, it will be extremely dense (gluten helps in the formation of holes by trapping CO2 released by either yeast or baking powder). Anyway, I'm thinking 3 bananas, wheat bran, flax seed, oil or butter, and then perhaps some whole wheat flour. Maybe some walnuts if the aren't too expensive.

Yes. Wading through all the muck to get your details would be tough. So pm him your current and goal weight and he'll add you.

No, but it helps. You could do it without an ice cream maker - all that would be required is to stir the ice cream while it is freezing every 30 minutes or so until it has properly frozen.

Basically, the science behind it is that ice crystals will form when water freezes, if it freezes slowly, or if the crystals are not broken up while it is freezing. Thus, the two methods for getting smooth ice cream are either freezing it with liquid nitrogen so that it freezes instantly, or, if you have none of that, mixing it while it freezes so that you break up the ice crystals.

You want to get the mixture cold in the fridge first, until it is just above freezing. Then, either put it in your ice cream maker (which churns as it freezes) and remove it once it is below freezing (it will not be completely solid). Or, put it in your freezer and beat it every half hour.

Can you ass hats please stop derailing the thread with your high fat low carb bull****.

The rest of us would actually like to use this thread as motivation, we aren't here to read your silly bitching sessions (which span pages).

Grow up and take it outside. You'll burn more calories this way too.

Thanks - Management.

You're not management, so no one has to take notice of you.

And things might be easier if you could actually take the time to figure out who was derailing.

Thanks.

I vote Thor #JustSaying

Back to the BOET thread like I suggested several pages back

Thanks.

Wow captain obvious. You really figured out i'm not management, well gee golly gosh you must be the sharpest pencil in the box. As far not having to listen to anyone who isn't the boss of you, that's a tired old argument isn't it? Watching too much Malcolm in the middle again?

Now the point remains stop derailing and kindly fsck off to another thread where can debate LCHF and insult one another over pages and pages to your hearts content.

Would really love to meet you in real life without a keyboard.

I'm nervous in a "prison rape" kind of way.....

I'll be in Cape Town from the 30th for a week's timeshare, but let's not and say we did!
