Weight loss

I know. I wasn't talking about calories eaten. I was talking about energy expended... Ketones burnt ;)
If I burn more ketones my body responds by increasing the rate it converts stored triglyceride to ketones, and that is the secret to weight loss. Eat low carb and boost your metabolism.

preaching to the converted brother, amen

I can't run at all, I get very bad shin splints.

I do walk though 4 km every morning and later I either swim around 40 - 50 laps or play squash, legs don't hurt that much playing squash, go figure.

Man I wish it would get warmer now... I'm don't want to get out of bed in the mornings

And keep running hippo ;)
Just don't injure yourself...

Meanie can say what he wants about diet vs exercise - you just feel so much better if you're exercising as well.

btw my nickname in school was baby hippo but I am so laughing at the ******* who called me that but are now fatter than me :D

I fully agree with OMB though ;) the whole calories in vs calories out thing is a fallacy

No definitely - I will never exercise because I feel bad for eating naughty :D But your life does improve if you move them muscles a bit.

I know. I lost 20 kg in 6 months a few years ago. Am doing the same thing now, except then I walked 5km a day and now I don't, hence starting the running.
With a proper ketogenic diet, all exercise is fat-burning so every calorie helps :D and I do want to get fitter anyway. Want to be able to run a half marathon in the not too distant future.

20kg's in 6 months? How the furk did you do that?

If you have a lot to lose its not that difficult...

Do you realise how bad this is for you?

If you do you know that your body goes into prehistoric starvation mode, which means that your body thinks that there is no food, this is done through chemicals that are released inside the body. Problem is, doing this in a regular basis overdoses your body with its own chemicals, resulting in liver, kidney and even hart function issues and/or disorders.

All of these you will only notice at a later stage in your life

Bull**** and low carb onions.

Your body also isn't made to carry around kgs and kgs of extra fat

Although Purpleminion is trolling to an extent - you are also wrong - we are infact meant to carry extra kgs of weight - its a survival mechanism, at some points survival of the fittest dictated we should carry extra weight - hence the more weight we lose - the more the body fights to keep it

Our frenzy of being "lean" is quite a recent phenomonon - in days gone by, chubby people were the benchmark for beauty

Now that you mention this, I have always had a feeling that in a past life I was probably a beauty queen:D
