Weight loss

I just realized I've been pulling up my jeans all day... they are getting loose :D

Weekend off to a bad start... Hot chocolate and pancakes for breakfast...
When next week is over things should get better though

had eggs, sausage and mushrooms for breakfast with a slice of rye bread... it was really good. Had a Kauai Carrot juice and strips of biltong for lunch and there is polenta with roasted veg patties and a chickpea salad for supper (After I am done admiring the thunder and lightning in Sandton)

*drooooool*

I read that our bodies can't absorb the proteins and such of cow's milk properly, anyone got confirmation/knowledge on this subject?

lactose intolerance is fairly common, as a species we've only been using milk as a food source for about 8000 to 9000 odd years. The issue seems to be mainly related to whether your body can produce lactase which is the enzyme required to break down lactose. Also there may be an issue around what happens to the protein bonds in pasteurised milk (due to the heat treatment) which may influence the ability to digest milk effectively but I'm not sure which way or in what regard it would influence it. I don't take milk in as part of my diet so I haven't researched it much, maybe someone else can give some more informed insight.

It would make sense because cows make milk for their little children and human babies stop drinking milk and grow teeth which would mean that they shouldn't drink milk anymore but besides that, people just react differently to dairy. I've heard some people say milk gives them a runny tummy and my father snores so badly if he consumes dairy (can't guarantee that these are related) and personally, I get stomach ache from milky things and also slimyness like in the back of my throat (I know its gross but it happens :D) and the doctor confirmed that I should stay away from dairy. I do use easigest milk from time to time and it seems a bit better. So I think whatever works for you. I've heard that the amount of calcium our bodies absorb from milk is something like 2% of what the milk contains so maybe its the same for the other goodies in milk as well.

Looking forward to weigh in, but will be a day late. Got married yesterday, only getting home tomorrow afternoon. Pretty sure that all the hectic running around and dancing was good for me, managed to avoid the carbs with the exception of a handful of crisps on Friday evening... :D
