Weight loss

So the Diwali excesses were not half as bad as I thought and I even made it to gym this am :D

Didn't have a weigh in this past weekend though.

Lol. That is an almost word for word echoing of what I said in Humberto's cholesterol thread...

So, I decided to have a weigh-in today. It's been a month.

From 90.6kg, I'm down to.....

87.4kg. This is working! But now I start weight training so I'm no longer hoping for much weight loss, but rather weigh stability. I want the fat to drop and muscle to gain, so if I can maintain a stable weight I'd be happy...

So after reading this thread I'm inspired to lose approx. 30 kg +- 5 kg over the next 12 months. Signed up with my local gym again and weighed myself in. Measured in at 107.2 kg. Body fat is 27.6% - a lot lower than I was expecting but then again how accurate are one of these machines that measure your body fat through your biceps? Am 1.78m tall so my ideal mass is approx. 76 kg. Got a lot of work to do.

The gym will assist weight loss in a small way but unless you change your eating habits you are farting in a thunderstorm :D

Stick to an eating plan for weight loss. Gym for strength/stamina.

I primarily go to that gym because they have an indoor heated swimming pool [and because all the trophy wives/MILFs go there - sue me I'm into older women]. Swimming is my favourite past time. My eating plan has already changed a month or so ago. I cut out all refined sugar from my diet and have now started drinking coffee/tea with an artificial sweetener whereas I used to drink Milo/Horlicks with sugar. No more bread either.

I primarily do gym for strength, stamina and toning.

The cutting out of sugar is great. But carbs are also a sugar, so don't think that eating pastas and the like are healthy in terms of weight loss...

Sounds like a plan

PS. Where are the hot guys swimming? :p

I somewhat disagree.

Obviously you need to change your eating habits and cut out the various rubbish such as sugars and breads, but I tend to only lose weight if I up my exercise, which is mainly swimming.

Keto does not work for me at all, the higher fat in take makes me feel like crap and I have had severe chest pains the last 2 weeks, so much so that I went for an ECG. bottom line is I am still here, but back to what works for me, which is more on the line of healthy eating, CICO with exercise.

Dropped 1.2kg this week, now 116kg on the dot.

Drop the artificial sweetener, in 3 days your coffee will taste awesome without anything.
Swimming is great, though not many milfs at my gym :)
I tend to do between 40 - 60 laps, more than that I get headaches and feet cramp up.

Well done to the losers.

I'm only weighing in next Wednesday again. I feel fatter though :(

omg, why didn't I think of that! Great for summer! Want to share how you are making it?

I take the volume of my blender and determine how many spoons of coffee are required. I then dissolve those coffee granules and a little xylitol in hot water and mix with a little cream. I chuck it in the blender and start adding ice until I reach half the capacity of the blender. I then add the butter and blend again, and then top up with more ice to reach the blender capacity. I do it this way to hopefully help the butter emulsify better with the mixture. It is insanely creamy, even for an ice-blended coffee...
