I notice the E620 card now includes the external antenna and the earpiece, is this new to the special offer? I recall it was a nightmare to get hold of an antenna in June 2006.

Yeah

If you take out the extended data 1Gb for 24 months - You get a E220 @R479 pm for 24 months with a once off R236 for SIM and connection fee plus you get 1GB for free

And the other offer is you get the E620 for R479 once off connection and SIM fee R236,80 its also on the extended data 1GB you get a external antenna + Earpiece plus you get 1Gb for free

What a deal

I see on MTN's site the following:"If you subscribe to the 1GB Data Bundle during this period, you will receive an additional 1 GB of data Free for three consecutive months after date of activation."

So if I understand this correctly, if I use prepaid simcard 1 today and load a 1 GB bundle today 19 Feb, and on 19 March and on 19 April, I will pay for 3 GB and get 3 GB free.

Then if I take simcard 2 and load a 1 GB bundle on 18 May, 18 June and 18 July, I will again pay for 3 GB and get 3 GB free?
So I can potentially get 6 GB free (spread over 6 months) using 2 different simcards?

The above statement could be misinterpreted as saying if I only buy 1 GB in month 1 and not in month 2 or month 3, then I will get 3 GB free over the next 90 days. Shouldn't the statement specifically say the free 3 GB is subject to buying 1 GB for 3 months in a row?

Okay let me try and explain

So if you load a bundle on the 18th of May it will run until the 18th of June and from there it will go back to normal 1Gig and nothing free

Hope that helps

Just to understand this correctly, as a contract subscriber i will get and extra 1GB of Data free and there is nothing else i need to do regarding taking out a new contract. Also if I get an aditional 1GB free when does this kick in from? Will i be able to use the 1 GB immediatly or will it run according to when my data is relaoded next month?

Okay

If you already have the 1GIG data bundle you'll get the free GIG effective you're next invoice date there's nothing you need to do - No new contracts

Hope that helps

Nope

If you're a existing client then you'll only get it for 3 Months it ends on the 18th of May

If you take out a new contract with extended data then you get it for 24 months.

Yip a big :D while it lasts ... I really hope MTN decides to make this permanent .. (then it won't suck :p )..

This is the first time I've ever loaded more than about R250 worth of data in one month...
R399 for 2GB .. yes that I will definetly make use of ...
R399 for 1GB .. nope it's too much to cough up in one go for too little ... (if you get my meaning)

So yea... MTN please make it permanent.. :)

The reduction in pre-paid data cost is good, the bonus GB is better, and if it is made permanent even better.

However, what is this thing called HSDPA? I live in Centurion and all I can get is EDGE!

So if i do the maths - I am currently on a my choice 75 which means that I have 75 minutes to use as either data or calls per month, but my 1GB of data I have loaded onto my contract has nothing to do with the contract I have and am currently paying R437-00 for that bundle (reduced to R350-00 for new rate) which will expire in 3 months time with the 2GB bundle. If take out an extended contract I will be billed R412-00 per month but will basically be guranteed the 2GB od data for the next 24 months and will get a new E220 modem which will be able to connect at higher sppeds when available, I have had my contract for 8 months and have 16 months left so in order to cover the remaining cost of my choice 75 i would have to sell my E620 card for R1200-00 - the once off cost for this card is R1499-00 so i think this is pretty good deal for anyone wanting buy an E620 card - any takers?

You cant be serious??? Well HSDPA is basically 3G+ with a connection speed of 1.8Mbps as compared to EDGE which is 236.8Kbps.

@David

Sounds like you got it all worked out - One thing is that 3.6 will only be switched on later in the year but all in all not a bad way of working things out there bud
