What supplements do you take?

I can also sleep when its light, I just think we need Melatonin for more than just to fall asleep. eg. Melatonin simulates the release of HGH that in turn release IGF-1. It it involved in neurogenesis and other tissue repair and maintenance.

But yes, everybody is different. Personalized medicine is a side interest for me. I still want to do genetics test on myself to see what versions of genes I have. That will help me a lot with figuring out what I should include in my diet/stack. Most likely I'll just use 23andme.

Agreed on Zinc and Magnesium, but I have a feeling that our modern diet already gives us to much calcium. That is why I take the rest of the Calcium complex (Boron, D3, K2 and Magnesium), and not calcium itself. Calcium complex is just what I call it, it is not really an official grouping. When researching, I just found that all of them are working in synergy.

I've wanted to do the 23andme, but kinda rather be ignorant on potential mutated genes lol.

Had bad insomnia at a stage, but I decided to keep using the Melatonin even when I eliminated that problem. Our modern world with all the light at the blue/violet side of the spectrum at night wrecks our Melatonin production. I'm trying to make it less, but even warm white LEDs have a secondary peak in the blue side. I just received LEDs last week that has a very narrow band in the 580-595nm spectrum. Will start playing with them soon, I hope it will totally eliminate circadian shift. My computer is already set up with f.lux.

While Epitalon can re-activate Melatonin production, it does so only in old mammals. I'm far to young to see that effect.

Where do you source your melatonin from?
Not been available over the counter for sometime now.

Fiber. Psyllium husk is almost pure fiber.

I, uh, need fiber supplements. Like badly. I don't know why, constipation is something I've always struggled with, and protein shakes make it worse.

It sounds to me you have a problem with your intestinal flora

You need to eat some more food thats still alive and probiotic: raw kefir and raw kombucha changed my life.
Esp. the kefir: At least 1l a day. Made preferably from raw whole milk; untreated and straight from the cow; that'll fix your constipation quick.

80% of your diet should be raw and stay away from antibiotics and cheap supermarket meat and milk (because of antibiotics )

explain? cost of all the individual supplements bought separately work out more expensive.
Kinda. You'd have to specifically be interested in their mix of herbal extracts at the end because the bulk of their ingredients is a standard formulation multivit (first 25 items on list) and an omega supplement...a combination you can do for about a tenth of their price. Leaving you with R1600 to try and copy their herbal mix - if you really want to. Personally I'd google each of those components, pick a couple that seem interesting and pocket the R1k change.

The whole raw food thing is.... well completely overrated.

In any case, the problem is mainly the amount of protein that I eat - the ratio of protein to fiber is completely wrong, unless I supplement with loads of fiber. Without the protein shakes, I don't have much of a problem.

I eat yogurt now and then. Alive yogurt.

Honestly, been taking them for about 2 years now. Its the first supplement I've had where the absorption seems to be effective, I don't end up peeing luminous yellow urine at all with them.

Together.

Read some studies on the matter - taking a combination of proteins is better than just one.

I think you mean wasting the effect of whey, since whey is faster to absorb. But in any case, if you look at the actual rate of whey and casein absorption, the difference between whey and casein is not as high as you think.

Rubbish. You're telling me eating processed over raw is healthier.

Rubbish. You're telling me eating processed over raw is healthier.

Where did I say processed is better? Can you find the word processed in my posts? Go on, I dare you.

I said raw food is overrated. I'm not going to eat a raw potato or raw beef just because some nut thinks that is what our ancestors would have preferred.

I'm not going to look for raw dessert recipes just because it is the latest fad.

Cooking some food is essential, and sometimes even makes nutrients more available. In other cases, such as olive oil, heat destroys a lot of the goodness. But to say we must not cook anything, is beyond stupid. This whole paleo diet thing has no basis in science whatsoever. Numerous studies attest to that.

Is a diet that is higher in whole, natural foods likely to be healthier than a diet high in processed foods? Yes, of course, for numerous reasons. But eating raw food does not make you healthier.

I don't take any sort of supplements.

And don't appear to be any worse for it.

Saw a post on Facebook some time last year about a guy swearing by a combination of Imsyser and Quercetin to prevent sinus infections. So I got myself some in November. I don't take it regularly, but as soon as I feel any symptoms I'll take them for a few days (3 times per day), and so far so good. Haven't been sick yet, but then that could just be coincidence. Will see how I go through winter. Usually have 1 course of antibiotics per year, so I want to see if I can get through 2016 without taking any.

Going to give the Quercetin a try, I see GNC stock at Clicks. I Get sinus infections every 2nd month. I basically get by with sinus rinses (Use Salex SSR). I've had 5 sinus ops already... My ENT's (Plural - been through many) put me in top 5 worst patients:wtf:
