Upon doing a Traceroute, i found that google.co.za follows the same USA route and has the same Ping time as google.com. What gives? I would have thought google.co.za to run locally, facilitating quicker response times?
Google.com & Google.co.za
Ping average - 530 ms
19 hops, 5 networks
Compare this to Microsofts's new search engine, Bing.com, which never hangs. Traceroute ends @ Internet Solutions JBG:
Ping average - 40 ms
13 hops, 5 networks
Could this be a reason I'm having constant hanging issues? Forcing me to routinely reload Pages of anything Google - google.co.za, google.com, gmail, google reader, google maps, youtube etc.
Telkom & Axxess say my connection is fine and online speed-tests are relatively acceptable but i'm still having issues after having tried all the suggested solutions I can find.
Such as clearing caches & cookies, disabling add-ons, using assigned DNS server addresses, not using DNS server address, using different browsers, etc.
Facebook and some other websites also lag at times, but it seems Google takes the cake.
I have 512 Mb ADSL (dlink moden) with Axxess
Any suggestions & comparisons appreciated.
