Whatsapp Alternative

That is the reason I started to use whatsapp it is now getting larger with the updates wheres for the symbian / samsung os updates used to be only when I checked with the website.

Symbian was discontinued in 2011. Maybe move back to SMS.

You don't have to update every time there is an update available.

The old days of the Nokia Symbian the size was about 12mb
What does the size matter? Storage on the phone is probably a few GB anyway so even if whatsapp was 200Mb it's not really an issue. Phone storage has scaled up along with app size.

There appears to only support for Whapsapp without any reply to the query?

Read again: It was said that WhatsApp is closed and no other clients are allowed to access their network. We also suggested you move to Telegram but that depends on how many of your contacts actually use Telegram.

Your options are:

1. Ignore the WhatsApp updates and update it when you want to
2. Disable WhatsApp and enable it when you need it
3. Move to Telegram
4. Use SMS

It's not Whatsapp that gets bloated, it's the sent and received directories that fill up with meme's and videos which slow down the app. You can obviously try BBM or move back to Mxit Java's version.

If your battery is draining you need to trim down your notifications.

It's not Whatsapp itself that eats the battery but the fact that you are using it to communicate constantly.

Disable lock screen notifications especially that light up the screen every time there is a message. Same for vibration.

We receive too many communications in the modern world to be notified of each. Go look for new messages/emails etc when you have the time to view them.

hangouts - good alternative.

Multiple platform, Chrome extension, iPhone, android etc. And get little stickers can send

5. Change platform, so you can ignore #1 and #2. Get 2nd hand iPhone 4s or later:
- It doesn't do updates automatically. You have to download updates manually from the app store. It can be also older model (like my iPhone 4), but you will be stuck to the old operating system.
- It doesn't show any extensive data usage. Whatsapp is subscribing to the Apple push service and message notification comes directly from Apple. It doesn't need to run in the background, push service does it all. This note also applies to Telegram (which I prefer, BTW) and many other messaging apps.

Signal.

Pretty legit

Nice app, but appart from voice calls, lacks features compared to Telegram. First 1 or 2 calls I made to it to the people I asked to install it for the voice call feature (i deleted whatsapp) was ok, but yesterday the quality was crap....national and to the UK.
