I dunno if its just me....but the last 3 I tried to activate didn't work. Called made and answered successfully... But didn't activate the other guy

A new version of Whatsapp is on the play store I urge you not to upgrade to this version unless the app says it will be discontinued current app installed.

Activated over 400 people between yesterday and today. Everyone at the office is now activated and making use of WhatsApp to call coworkers..

The boss is super exited with this feature which means big saving for our company. .

I think networks are already filling the pinch. I was on a call to Europe for over 2 hours.. voice quality is impressive

Looks like about 1MB = 3mins.

So for the cheapest bundles:
Vodacom R9 = 10MB = 30mins
MTN R10 = 20MB = 60mins

Any confirmation on whether its free for Cell C? I'm thinking it utilises P2P webrtc, so probably not.

Only thing is that the receiver will also pay for data, so networks will get revenue from both parties, unlike normal calls.

Will still work out cheaper though.

Is it save using the unofficial release .561 and can I downgrade to the official version once calling is activated?

561 is available in the playstore since yesterday sometime, or rather that is when I noticed it. So just update. And if updating brings you to an earlier version(me the day before yesterday), then just keep updating.
