When Can I Cancel?

I can upgrade again on 16 September 2012, but actually want to cancel my contract and move back to prepaid.

Will I be able to cancel on that date? Or only on the day the contract was taken out,which is someday in December.

Definitely 24 months after you started.
The upgrade is available after 21 months to get you to stay on as a customer.
Remember to give a month's notice - so inform them in November (or even now) that you wish to cancel your contract at the end of the term.

Thanks alot! Actually logged onto Vodacom and on the homescreen it states: Contract expiry date 15 December 2012, I missed that.
Canceling earlier than that date will probably result in a penalty fee?

Yes. they will charge you the remainder + penalties.

You'll have to cancel no later than 1 dec & pay for dec...

Yes, and the penalty fee will be (your monthly subscription fee) * (remainder of contract). ie. everything you owe them...
Your contract was initiated before the onset of the CPA, so you aren't protected by the 10% maximum on remainder of contract clause
