Seems like my current iCloud storage (200Gb) is starting to run out, mostly due to my large photo and video libraries, but also because of family back-ups.
I am tempted to move up to the next tier, but it's quite a jump in capacity and price from 200Gb to 2Tb and I can't help but feel like it might be a bit of a waste, especially at first.
I do have a 2TB Onedrive as well which I actually use primarily for my PC documents and media back ups, but theoretically, I could put some of my iPhone and iPad media on there too. Managing photos and videos, and moving / deleting from iOS / iCloud to keep it on Onedrive does seems like a bit of a schlep though.
Is anyone else using higher tier iCloud storage? I suppose it's a matter of opinion and comes down to how much effort you want to put into managing your content, but do you think it's worth it (for you)?

You can stack storage. Sub to Apple One family and then just take out another individual 200gb plan.
 
Apple One Family 200GB + 200GB Additional.

But in your case I would say add the 50GB for now until it runs out then bolt on the 200GB.

No need to jump straight to the 2TB.

But also sit your family down and implore them to go through their photos and especially videos and just clear out some complete trash AND then clear deleted items, you’ll be surprise how much kak there is which isn’t even original content.

Jokes aside, my kids run through cloud storage like its nothing and so do I. I also store everything in the cloud and since we're an Apple house we just use iCloud. If and when I need the additional storage I won't mind paying for it.
 
12TB. I have >10 years of my life in docs, photos and more on iCloud. I pedantically scan all paper sent to me as well.
Also all our old home movies from DVR tapes are on there. I also backup some of my VM's images too.
I only trust iCloud with my data especially personal stuff like IDs, passports, medical docs scanned etc.

Also on the 200GB family plan. By far the best value imo. Gives the whole family a usable amount of iCloud storage, Apple TV+ and Apple Music. Plus Apple Arcade if anyone cares about that.
 
I'm already paying Google for 2TB of storage, so why should I pay Apple too!

What annoys me is that I could chose my cloud storage for WhatsApp on Android - I used Google Drive, but on iOS it forces you to use iCloud. Give me the option to save chats to Google Drive FFS!
