AND LED does use less power than a plasma ;)

And you're blind. Go read my posts again and show me where I said LED does not use less power than LCD or plasma.
 
WTF does a few Watts got to do with the quality of the screen. you don't even feel it in your pocket unless you like that guy on the Mweb ad that watches 24/7.

Silly topic. I have a Plasma Sammy myself at home.
 
There should be a list of comparable points between the different techs: for example:
:screen uniformity
:screen brightness (measured in real terms)
:screen white levels
:screen black levels
:ETC ETC.
Then all you will have after that is a bunch of numbers, which mean nothing in comparison to personal preference :)

Hence I edited the big, bold part out of your quote saying how you felt
 
I would love to see a scientific test where they measure the nominal power between Plasma, LCD and LCD LED(both edge and full array) on similar sized tv's set to similar brightness etc.

I don't think the nominal power usage will be as different as people claim it to be because they just look at the Max wattage on the sticker.

Then it's sad but true, If you buy a PDP now, most of us would not see the end of the plasma lamp as it would outlive our remaining lifetimes.

The difference between nominal will be even higher as you generally have to run Plasma at higher brightness.

If you're not convinced just touch an LCD/LED and a Plasma on the backpanel and see how hot they get. You will almost burn your fingers on the Plasma. Why? Because it runs at a much higher temperature and gives out a lot more heat due which goes in hand with higher power consumption
 
So a plasma doubles as a heater in winter, and a pain in the arse in summer?

Does it matter? I buy a TV for viewing media and are less concerned about the heat as opposed to quality and performance.
For those that are overly concerned about the additional energy a plasma use.. SWITCH OF YOUR PC, QUICK!
