I said Plasma uses 2 to 3 times more electicity compared to LED and you replied "Rubbish".

Modern Samsung plasmas are rated 200,000 hours until half life. That's like half a life time of viewing.
I would love to see a scientific test where they measure the nominal power between Plasma, LCD and LCD LED(both edge and full array) on similar sized tv's set to similar brightness etc.
I don't think the nominal power usage will be as different as people claim it to be because they just look at the Max wattage on the sticker.

The difference between nominal will be even higher as you generally have to run Plasma at higher brightness.
If you're not convinced just touch an LCD/LED and a Plasma on the backpanel and see how hot they get. You will almost burn your fingers on the Plasma. Why? Because it runs at a much higher temperature and gives out a lot more heat due which goes in hand with higher power consumption
You can only feel the heat if you stand with your head right against it. Otherwise, it's a non-issue.
