I'm pretty new to all of this so I'm trying to find my bearings so I appreciate your thoughts. FWIW, the AncNoc 18 is my favourite at this point after testing a few of my collection.

Inchmurrin is R1400
Bowmore is R855

What would you recommend instead?

Inchmurrin 18 is cheaper in checkers, R1060,99 + VAT

Shop here, it currently has the best deals and zero shipping costs. Don't know where you live though, so that could be a factor?

Just remember the prices are excluding VAT.

I recommend:

 • Octomore
 • Ardbeg 10
 • Springbank 12
 • Oban 14
 • Highland Park 18
 • Smokehead
 • Glen Scotia 18

Thanks! I'm in Durban but they said they could ship to me. Well, they did via the phone (the on-site chat said no).

I had the Smokehead High Voltage in my sights so this is one to add. I already have Ardbeg 10 and Oban 14. I only have R6500 to put toward whisky this month so I'll keep my eye on that.

Good luck man. I hope that shipping does happen/work out. Could be tricky as CFS only has two depots: JHB and CPT.

The CPT one is 3 km's from my house and they deliver here within the hour of me buying.

If shipping is an issue, ship it to me and then get Internet Express to collect here for something like R180 bucks.

There's always options.

@dualmeister That being said: those amounts looked correct based on your GBP total paid, so I do not think you need to worry.

A discrepancy is usually glaring. I would just pay so that you get your stuff before the next lock down hits and Port Health Authority goes on go slow again...then it may take 2 weeks instead of 3 days.
Crying into my "single" Glencairn of Jim Beam...

This is normal, relax it's with DHL it will get here. The really long wait tends to be customs who take forever to actually get around to processing anything. Surprised you had to pay dhl anything already, usually, you only pay once customs has processed.
It's called pre-clearance. You pay before it even get's to SA actually.

Random guy in the internet tells you to ship whisky to him and he'll forward it onto u, what could go wrong?

Rah_Skill I can vouch for MightyQuin I've bought whisky and shipped to him and I've received the money before I even packed up the boxes. There's are few of us on the thread that know him and some of them know where I he lives.

DHL either sends the invoice before it reaches South Africa or as it hits Johannesburg - luck of the draw. They start the customs clearance process as soon as the parcel is added to their system.

Usually when I ship from California, every other week, they've completed the process before it hits Cincinnati (international depot) and I get the invoice on its next stop (Leipzig) or after in Netherlands. If it's delayed beyond that, it's because of customs.

The issue is in customs 100% where the price varies depending on how tight their broeks are that day. I've never had a parcel go missing with DHL so, like axsis said, don't stress it. Outside of Fedex, there isn't a better int. logistics company.

Not worried about DHL. We import all our products so used to shipping from various Countries.

More curious why WhiskyBrother is taking so long to ship :cautious:

I have faith it will arrive as he's been really helpful. Besides, it isn't as if these are highly collectible.

How long do they usually take? I've only had two orders ship with them (first purchase then a competition win) and neither had tracking details. They just appeared about three days later.

Guessing I'll only see my Three Ships on Monday/Tuesday. This wait is AGONIZING.

Looks like only 124 bottles left

They have a big backlog due to Black Friday and the new Three Ships release.

Received my shipping notice just after 11am this morning. I did order on Wednesday with minutes of the reveal.
