Has anyone had a taste of this yet?
I am really keen to try it, because I love Port wine, just wanted some opinions first.

Was at Liquor City earlier overheard the manager talking of an incoming lockdown
There was a special provincial cabinet sitting this morning from 0800 to discuss contingency plans and other measures to be put in place to curb the spread but not sure if they will ban booze again but highly likely.

Hospitals are currently filled to capacity with private patients being transported to Government hospitals.

Makes me think of the Glenmorangie Cake box.

Have a look at your bottle to see if it is thick and creamy. I was in the liquor store the other day when people returned Amarula. Even the shop staff was seen shaking bottles and being confused with the watery version on the shelves. Something definitely went wrong in production.

Ouch. Will check.

Had some friends over to celebrate the holidays - which ended up becoming an impromptu whisky tasting when they saw the collection. Of the group, only one is really into whisky (bourbon) so I guess these might be slightly different to how others might rate them with more experience. But from a completely novice perspective (myself and the group) here they are:

1) Glendronach 15 Revival (new bottling)
2) Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 68 / Three Ships 9 YO Whisky Brother
3) Glendronach 18
4) Woodford Double Reserve
5) Cameronbridge 27 YO
6) Ardbeg 10
7) Big Peat (Cape Town)

Everyone loved the Three Ships - I think it was the most consistently placed of the bunch (everyone had it as their number 2). "Heavenly spicy" one person said. Local is lekker!

Or order some other stuff for free shipping

Wish I had seen this earlier, already pulled the trigger. Was getting a little anxious about not getting it in time for Xmas eve.

So my routine on xmas eve is:

  • Mince pies
  • Glenmorangie
  • Re-run of Mr Bean Xmas special
  • Home alone

I haven't had the Revival and Cameronbridge. From the others that I've tried I would rate them in that order as well, well maybe the Woodford after the ardbeg

I keep not trying Glendronach 18...It's just something I never get to. Not tried the Cameronbridge but I rank the Big Peat Cape Town above Ardbeg 10 but I guess it depends on the Ardbeg 10 batch. :D. Not a huge fan of the A'Bunadh but only had a try of one batch so not a great measure :P.

Great line up but oh it's so hard to go from cask strength monsters to the rest, also the risk of palate fatigue :(. Really impressed that the Glendronach 15 could stand up against those beasts.

Collection post Christmas...hic! Have a good one everyone.
