so, anyone else had this before it ran out of stock?

would be interested in other opinions, I've just knocked the whole pack in one session, must say I've never heard the name before and yet I enjoyed every sample in the pack, I will be on the lookout for full size bottles

newfound respect for Oloroso casks, even when the whisky is peated and at cask strength like the one sample in this tasting pack (59.5% ABV) ... the oloroso shines through, reminded me of the Three Ships 8yr Oloroso by both aroma and taste with the added light smoky twist

There was an online tasting back in December that a accompanied the tasting pack. The independent bottlers adelphi are behind the distellery. The one bottle is/was for sale. The rest of the samples were cask samples so no guarantee you'll see them in the future but likely something in a similar flavour profile.

Recording of the tasting:

I also found the oloroso cask very reminiscent of the Three Ships 8yo Oloroso. My favourite of the pack was the unpeated spirit CK.364-17/11/14. I think the first release needs a little more age but it's very promising.

I still have half my samples left. I really need to revisit them but only once my sense of taste returns 100%.

Anyway, I might not be drinking at the moment but I’m very happy with how my December project worked out. I’m thinking of adding front top downlight LED’s to compliment the backlit setup.

Looks awesome bud...but like we discussed before: the LED effect from behind will be much more striking if you take the bottles out of the boxes/canisters.

So a bit of a two edged sword, as the boxes add SO much to the whole display.

You should be able to hide the front leds under each shelf behind the lip, unfortunately the top shelf would not be lit.
And then you can get more shelves to display your entire collection

It does look better if you take them out their boxes and the backlight lights them up very nicely BUT the problem is where to store the boxes  :giggle:. I still need to sort out the collection that's not on the shelf.

I'm thinking of exactly that - adding LED's behind the lip. It will be a bit of a mission, though.

No too much I would think, the PITA work would be the soldering.

I see 2 sections under each shelf so you would need 2 pieces of led strip. You would have to put drill a small hole for the wire to connect the 2 pieces of led strips. Then run one wire from each shelf to joining them on the way down until you have 1 wire going to the power supply.
