The first Marketed Xbox in SA - yes, but you were still able to buy off-shore

And this is exactly now the opposite way around for the PS3 - a year+ down the road in SA compared to the Xbox 360 across US/Japan. And why I will wait to see if it picks up at all - R6k is alot of molla to just throw around.

I don't like Nokia's, VW's, BMW's or AA.....

I'm inclined to agree with you there, a couple of people here have been relatively neutral to the PS3 but overall most have judged a 5 month old system purely on what Sony and the media has said.

I personally have a PS3, and yes its a new, expensive system, it has its bugs, but guess what, its still great to play, and will get better in time.

Until its had sometime to develop or at least until you guys have actually played on it, how about giving the PS3 a f***ing break.

Why? The original Xbox was lashed non-stop across the entire internet and was never given a chance... So now the fanboys want to return the favour...

Until Sony comes up with something real to actually make people sit up and take notice I don't see the bashing ever coming to an end... This is going to be the hardest year for Sony in a long time. They need to now shut up and get on with the job.

If they can pull it off it will be fantastic.

At the moment, there simply just isn't any good reason. I got one cause I could afford it, its got games I want coming to it and its got a whole lotta potential.

Its probably not gonna interest you guys that much, but at the GDC Playstation Home and Little Big Planet were announced. While not particularly my cup of tea, it does show that Sony are working on new things for the PS3.

Yeah I read up about all that this morning. I'm with you though it is not my cup of tea... I like the trophy room though...

Anyway I will buy a PS3 if it ever fulfills some of it's potential or if the price drops to something reasonable...
