Why do people hate Blackberry Users?

We see right through your charade. You enjoyed playing with it, didn't you? :)

Only to the extent that one can enjoy an episode of CSI: Miami; the intro looks all flashy and promising, but 5 minutes in you see just how useless an actor David Caruso really is. Given a little more time and one starts climbing walls, driven by the absurd banality of it all. At that point not even the large doses of cheese helps.

LOL

Just remember, if you take the BB and give your wife the Android you'll have to return the favour of last night's "appreciative gesture". :p

My mom recently got a Blackbery Curve so her and my dad could message each other for free while my dad is out of the country.
I've had to learn how to use it so I can teach my mom.

I'm sorry but you can get Android phones on cheaper contracts that kick this piece of crap's ass so hard with better hardware. I can already message my mom for (virtually) free from my Android phone via MSN on her phone. I use the Ebuddy app and leave it running in the background.
There is one little advantage that my parents are fond of though, the ability to send short voice messages for free. Would be possible on Android if someone made an app, sure it would use a tiny bit of data though.

Use whatsapp for Android, it can do that (voice messages) its basically BBM for non BB smartphones (iphone, android etc.)

Whatsapp does work on BB too, so if you can isntall that on your moms BB and on your android you will be good to go!

Whatapp isn't free forever though, they're going to charge a subscription. That is going to seriously hold back the number of users it will have.
Personally I don't care for the voice messages so I'm happy with MSN, my parents just like to use it when talking to each other. Too late to recommend anything else for them since they already have Blackberries :(
Although my dad doesn't pay for his, his work does.

Well my whatsapp is going to free for the next 12 months, so I'll continue to use it and I'm sure my mates will too.

If they do start charging a subscription fee, ill either dump it for something else, or i'll pay (depending on pricing, usage etc)

Just thought I'd pop this in there.
wallpaper-miscellaneous-smartphone-truths

i just use BB's to spot poor people ;)

if they could afford it they would have an Iphone4/Galaxy/desire HD etc ;)

I'm also using whatsapp on my Desire HD, works a treat.

A friend told me that, once you're using whatsapp, you'll get a feeling for how it feels to own a blackberry, but I told him that he's not thinking straight - no blackberry has a 4.3'' 16M color display and fast internet. ;)

Well, I have a SGS and I recently found myself using my blackberry bold more than it. I use my SGS more as a toy and mobile media unit than a phone. I use my blackberry as a communication device.

I would too if I had an Android phone still running Eclair!

But my Desire HD is awesome, it's a huge display powerhouse that multitasks like a dream (whatsapp, messaging, twitter, the whole works run at the same time with no sweat)....as "toy phone" I use an iPhone 3G. ;)

With whatsapp the BBM magic has been neutralized, so don't see myself getting a small screen & slow CPU phone.

i actually have The SGS and a BB :)

you can't say BB's are even close to the same league as smart phones. The only thing BB's have is good "communication" tools. My girlfriend has a blackberry, so now we use whatsapp, i send messaged no problems, all the time. She has the issue of only getting them 3 hours later because BIS was down... gotta love Vodacom :P

People hate BB users because they are forever on their phone typing away (BBM'ing) and then when they are not doing that, their phone is forever beeping (getting messages, emails etc)

I have a BB and even I find it irratating - actually, it's irratated me so much that my BB is on permo silent.
I get ***ed out almost all the time by people because I take forever to reply to messages because A) I don't hear that I have messages and B) I generally take my time to reply to messages.

I LOL'ed uncontrollably now, cos this is exactly what happened Friday afternoon. Some BB friends were BBMing away, making them very unsocial....and the sad thing is they don't even realize it!
