Can I do the installation of a new SSD myself?
I'm not a IT person. But I do know the basics.

Yes, you can. It's really easy and there should be videos on how to do it everywhere on the internet.

You want a SATA SSD (NOT NVMe).

Since you are new at this, make sure you unplug all other harddrives while formatting and installing windows. You wouldn't want to accidentally wipe the wrong one.
 
I'm going to remove both drives currently installed and replace with one 500 GB SSD.
Can I do that?
Yes you can.

Just backup whatever documents and pictures and whatever you want to keep before hand.

I have the same laptop in that video.
He say's it's better to do it from scratch.
First download all the drivers and keep it on a flash just in case.
