lol, Let me help this oke.

What do you know of Wifi and i hope it is not the word booster/amp.

You need this one thingie (router) that connects to this other thingie (radio) that connects to this other thingie (pigtail) that connects to this other thingie (LMR cable) that connects to this other thingie (antenna) that connects to this AP somewhere or is the AP. Did you see how I was able to say that without the word booster/amp.

Take all off the above, chuck it in an checkers bag on your roof and switch the power on.

And that is the making of an TROLL.

I have found a lot of you "Wug" guys are typically like an old decrepid car guy with his sad old MG Or Triumph from his young days..
You all defend your little "Wug" domain with the same self righteous sracastic answers when ever someone brings this topic up..
I have found the same on the Wug ics(?) chat thing...ask questions and you are belittled for not knowing enough and daring to ask..
There are exceptions who Ive spoken and dealt with like Ryder,Techie,Hooligan,etc...
Give it up guys and tell the bloke straight how it is..sarcasm and redicule is un neccessary..
Despite the trolls on Jawug,Ill be doing some plotting and scans with Hooligan this weekend to check feasibility of joining Jawug and trying to give more coverage here in Benoni..

Now where must we get our daily dose of humor and satisfaction? And just to correct you there, we dont do this to people who ask about info on joining wugs. If you want to sell internet go see a consultant and let them help you out. Why must the wugs teach wanne be wisps how to do wireless?

Isn't that how forums is suppose to work? First you search and if you find nothing then you post. Well thats my understanding how forums work, I know a few international forums that they just dont answer you if you ask the same question that has been discussed in past.

And it is not as if this is an unusual question. Probably 25% of all posts in this section are directly related to this.

I am quite insulted at your insinuation. EVERYONE on the network currently has contributed in many ways - eiither being hardware, software, time, cash and even knowledge.

You have absolutely NO-KNOWLEDGE of the History of the Wug and the constant battles we experience with 'stupid people' putting Amplifiers on their 2.4Ghz kits JUST so they can surf at their poolside... They dont care, but your neighbour cant surf at all 'cos HIS wifi-signal is DEAD.

Thats the problem... people just DONT CARE about others and are just after the quick buck.. at the expense of others.

As for your 'Triumph' example, you can associate 'Arrogance' with 'Knowledge' as most WUG people have been-there-done-that and have the T-Shirt as proof.

Listen to them and you can learn alot more, just 'cos you 'demand' to be on Jawug and no-one jumped up and said 'Me Me Me Me Me Me, I'll run after your butt' doesnt make it any different.

Face fact, 2.4Ghz spectrum is scarce, there are only 3 Good frequency channels, and if someone is blasting excessive power on one of them, I will personally report them to ICASA... lemme re-phrase that - There is NO Spectrum available on 2.4Ghz for WISPS or anyone else to have illegal equipment radiating. Never-mind a person with 2 friends and absolutely ZERO idea on what he is talking about.

"I have a marconi router, can I put a big aireil wif a amplifier on the roof and then charge people for my uncapped interwebs" - This sums up the mentality of the Wifi-internet sharing person.

If this guy with 2 friends just SEARCHED THE FORUM, he will see a long history of legal and logistical and even how to calculate radiation patterns.... but he didnt, so
stupid questions get stupid answers.

btw, hows your Hotspot coming along?
