WiFi security cameras

Looked it up years ago, but didn't have any human detection at the time. Looks like there are quite a few interesting plugins, might be worth revisiting.
I don't know of any human detection methods, but why would you use compute power just for human fave detection? Rather just use normal movement detection? I know iSpy have a lot of movement detection methods.

Because of false positives. Makes a big difference if someone is at my back wall Vs a cat.

Thanks all.
Should have mentioned that the intention is for these to be external cameras.
Ruhan, i hear you on the wireless dropping. it is a worry of mine.

It's easier to get an ethernet cable to the camera running PoE than trying to get an ac adapter to them imho.

I am generally not in favor of wireless, would prefer wired. Wireless can be less reliable and cost more in the short and long term depending. Remember, CCTV is not like the human eye, it struggles to see through fencing, electric fencing, gates, different light sources and obviously at night. Once you measure up your meters, look at cameras for your needs. If it thin and longer areas you dont need wide angles, but rather longer lenses (look at 40m Infra red plus). Look at 4mp plus cameras. At your price point, you could probably buy 3 IP cameras connected to a POE and router for around 6-7k.

Good brands include Dahua and hikvision.

Decent brands

I want to come back to this, mine sees fine thought all those during the day and at night if there is back light (like the street lights) thought the palisade, does not see through the palisade on top of the wall to the unlit veld at night (IR light reflecting back too much?), but that's it.

Tried to order the Xiami camera from Gearbest :They do not ship these items to South Africa ?

What do you mean? Are you referring to these specific cameras that they don't ship? Or in general?

Also couldn't order them from Gearbest (at the low price). But could from Zapals. It appears they have 'China' and International versions. Be aware that there are issues using the 'China' ones, that can be gotten around.

These Xiaomi cameras, do they record continuously. I would like to put some of these up around the house but say for instance something was stolen during the night can you playback the video or are these only for viewing?

Be interested to hear what the Xiaomi cameras are like once they have arrived and are set up, generally Xiaomi stuff is amazing value and works well, apart from some of it with no English menu's or instructions.

My Xiaomi cameras arrived yesterday after a waiting period of 2.5 months.
