Win7 Problem - explorer won't open folders in same window -HELP

Hey guys I'm having problems with an extremely annoying bug with Win 7 Ultimate after I installed the latest updates.
When i double click on folders in Win Explorer they ALWAYS open in a new window.
I've tried to do everything I found on other forums, including checking the code in the registry, explorer folder options and running a cmd system scan. I've also tried running a reg fix software. None of these have worked.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Can you help?

Have you tried to restore the system to a date before the update and see if it does the same thing ?

ok, found solution: For anyone who experiences this again:
1.Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.

2. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator.

3.If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue

4.At the command prompt, type the following line, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow

Once system scan is complete it all seems to be back to normal.
