Windows 7 laptop factory restore help needed

Hie i am trying to restore my samsung R519 laptop back to its factory state, i am using samsung recovery solution 4 but it is bringing an error message "Windows cannot find 'x:\WinClon\Manager1.exe". i have tried to search the web for solutions but i cant find any info, i will be glad if anyone can help me :o

Is "x:\" the correct drive to be looking in? not perhaps stored in C:\ for instance?

You should have a recovery option before you boot into windows, F2/F4 or something similar. There will be a picture on the screen and it will tell you the key to press. At least that is how it is on my Samsung Q310.

As far as I know, Recovery Solution is for when you make your own backups, not for the factory recovery.

i have tried F4 and it still goes to sumsung recovery solution and end up giving the same error code. With samsung recovery solution you can do a system restore (Basic) or a complete restore wich will clean the c drive and return to the state wich you bought it. i can see the backup wich i want to restore but it seems it cant find the drive , look at this image

Of course, make sure everything is backed first (not just stuff on the OS drive), and be prepared to do a clean install from dvd if it goes wrong.

This seems to confirm that it might be the problem and shouldn't do anything destructive even if it doesn't help, but just backup to be sure.

I was concerned that if the netbook was loaned to someone who tried to use the F4 option, I might lose my entire setup. Ideally, one should be able to disable the F4 recovery, or at least the display of the F4 recovery option, in the BIOS. Anyway, I changed the partition type of sda1 from 27 to 17. (I also later tried partition type 83, and this worked same as 17). When the boot F4 option was subsequently used, after several minutes of "Please wait...", it finally said "windows cannot find x:\winclon\manager1.exe", and rebooted when OK was clicked. Although untidy, hopefully this means that F4 recover won't work unless I want it to (by changing the partition type back to 27). Doing things this way at least means that the recovery partition still exists should I decide to return it to factory condition for any reason.
