Ok, mate just installed Win 7 32-bit RC build 7100 and he does not get any sound.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-8I945GZME-RH
Audio Chipset: Onboard Realtek ALC883 CODEC chip

Default Win7 did not provide any sound.
Install Realtek HD drivers V2.37 (Win7 32bit) from Realtek site and still no sound.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Had the same query from the secretary yesterday.

After checking connections, sound volume, drivers, devices, etc, etc, found that the sound was muted !!!!!!!

strange, also had no sound after installing but the realtek driver sorted it... check what it says in device manager if theres still a prob with the driver

Ok, problem sorted. Moved the jack around from original position to new position and back to original position again.:rolleyes:

Stupid solution? Yes, but that's MS for you ;)

The jack colour for the sound card did not match the one displayed for the speakers I noticed, why I don't know but moving the jack back and forth worked.

Getting the drivers from Realtek could have also been a solution... It even gives the option to use the port you were having problems with.

Edit: Saw that you did download the drivers but that's quite strange as the Realtek control panel gives you the option of speaker type whenever you in plug anything into the jacks.
