Windows 7 scarce in SA

Even for retail sales stores should be moving dozens a week out of a release period. I also remember that when M$ announced that 98 was no longer supported I immediately had a request for more than a dozen XPs in the first hour for existing users.

And this was coming from Mom & Pop users.
 
I downloaded it, via my MSDN subscription.

i am sure you can do it with retail as well.
 
So many people have been hanging out to avoid the vista animal. I've got a few XP boxes I've been flogging and coaxing along for months now.
 
Brought a laptop in Germany and got a free upgrade to windows 7 so now im just waiting for my DVD to arrive then goodbye vista even though i have never had a problem and hello win7
 
been using Windows7 64bit on my work pc for a while now, the pc a slight memory error (found out later) but even with that windows7 handled it with no problems.

The same can be said for nearly all OSes, if you have working code why reinvent the wheel? Rather just repair a few bugs, rewrite what needs to be rewritten and carry on. While I agree with the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it, our open source communities can't really judge.

Win7 is looking a lot better than Vista. I haven't tried it yet but that is the feedback coming from everyone. After having suffered with Vista for ages now I am ready to set the disks on fire.

Incredible Connection generally has 4 to 6 copies available of all versions of Windows 7 at its retail stores country wide. The arrival of new stock is dependent on orders made by individual stores.

Not sure why they're experiencing shortages, as I thought they were the most expensive? :erm:

My only grip is the new activation restriction. If bought in Africa can only be used in Middle East and Africa?

WTF?!!!
 
Have had the enterprise edition installed since beginning of October. Not sure how it compares feature wise to Win7 Ultimate, Business or Home... does anyone here know the difference offhand?
