Check if you are using IPv6 (vs. IPv4) in Windows 7. I am not sure how to do this in Win 7 directly; I use TuneUp utilities to optimize my internet connection. In Ubuntu, this is also done via terminal.
 
To users of Win 7 I wonder what replaces the wonderful “Microsoft Plus ! Digital Media Edition”, I know that this product was discontinued as it worked in Win XP as the;
(1) “Plus ! Analog Recorder” application was extremely useful in converting analog sound (Tapes and Vinyl records) to digital with “Cool Edit” included to reduce scratches etc.
(2) “Plus ! Audio Converter” which integrated with WMP and converted Wma into variable quality (Sampling Rates) or to Mp3.variable quality rates.

If I go and buy Windows 7 Home Premium - Retail and install on my current machine, will i be able to install on a new machine I intend to buy within the next 6 moths? Or will it be locked to the original machine it installs to?

I'm down with the 7. Got premium as soon as possible. The first week didn't go so well. Started freezing and stuff, but I reinstalled and just watched what I loaded onto it and it seems pretty sweet. Only downfall is playing my old Age Of Empires 2. The colours are all screwed up. I find the only fix is closing explorer.exe process whilst in game, then having to log off and on again once done just to use the old 7 again. Quite a las

You can just use the combo Win+R and type in explorer, and press enter.

Windows 7 is THE ****..

Everything works..

Look of Vista, Compatability of XP... kinda

Far as i know, you get only one license per cd. So you get 1 cd for one computer.
 
I was seriously considering porting over to Linux but also Windows 7 has kept me on the Microslop treadmill cause it looks do pretty and it kind of works most of the time

As it is retail it means one can use the license on a newly built machine later on int the 6 months being spoken of, but making sure the old machine has it's copy of Windows 7 with the same key removed to avoid illegal licensing implications.

Is it the release candidate 1?

You can't... you need to download another more up to date version which will come with proper activation.
 
hye how can I found out the address (or just name) of the file the random wallaper changer shows?
