Hi. This post is going to be an unpopular opinion.

I recently made a thread here titled "R32000 PC budget assistance" And anyways, long story short I ordered a bunch of products from Wootware & other stores.

The products arrived... One problem though, the R3075.00 Brand new motherboard I bought was... pre used.

The box was damaged, the anti static bag had holes in it and was opened. Last but not least the motherboard itself had thermal paste finger prints on the back of it. Lol

Check the photos.

Also, When I told wootware about this they said they would priority ship a new motherboard and I can send the old one back, Well I have sent the old one back. and ... I am still waiting for my new motherboard.

It has been 4 business days since they "Priority shipped" my product.

I was not going to write this review, I don't write reviews. However, Wootware deserves it. I am sitting here without a motherboard and my PC build has been delayed by a whole week thanks to Wootware.

Let us hope my motherboard arrives today.

REMINDER TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PRODUCTS BEFORE USING THEM.

If I had not checked my Motherboard, I wouldn't have noticed it was pre used.

EDIT: In the end wootware did a good job!

Obviously they Lied about priority shipping too now.

What does tracking say about where it is? And did you email to ask them wtf is going on? Seems like a possible issue with the courier?

About getting a used item, it's possible it's what the supplier sent them and since you seem to be building the pc yourself, they may not have opened it up to check themselves since they also thought it was new.

I had a great experience with Wootware, but I'd totally agree with you. If I got a second hand motherboard when I ordered and paid for a new one I'd also be a bit miffed. Their customer service is pretty great usually so I reckon they'll sort it out for you. Keep us posted.

wootware is always hailed as being really good. And i can vouch for this. however your concerns are totally valid! if they knowingly did this and is not putting in the right effort to sort it out, thats on them... Keep us posted.

Sucks that you had a bad experience man, I've had nothing but great service from them. Hope it gets sorted soon.

on the back of this

Wootware have been excellent for my orders over the years, but sounds like they dropped the ball here. Hopefully you come right with the replacement OP, I'd also be pissed if that happened to me.

Never had an issue with WW, hopefully they make it right.

TBH this is the first negative review I have heard about WW.
I'm sure they will sort you out with a new one.
I had an Asrock motherboard and a GPU (can't remember brand) go bad on me a few years back it became faulty and after testing it for a bit found it was faulty. They asked me to send it to them which i did they "tested it" and said it was not faulty and sent it back to me (at this time i had to pay for both shippings since it was deemed not faulty), i complained after getting it back as it kept giving me blue screens and they were like "we tested it and it was fine" anyway i asked for the distributor of the parts details, they gave me their details, phoned them up, explained my situation and they said i can come on through and they will test it for me and make a decision.

Went to the distributor and they stress tested it and another part which i assumed was faulty too, they said both parts were faulty and replaced them for me.

I enquired with Wootware about my delivery refund as the distributor deemed the items faulty, and they just said "at the time of testing with us it was not faulty"

Left a salty taste in my mouth BUT i will use them again even after this since their pricing is generally a lot better than other places and its local.

There is a second bad review on them :)

Indeed, would also like to see what the resolution to this thread is, it's extremely important that people air their bad experiences and update the resolution so we can see if things are going pear shaped or not.
This sounds very much like the Gamers Nexus vs NewEgg South African Edition.

Did Wootware give you a tracking link for the "Priority shipping"?
This is exactly what I thought as well, if Wootware is going bad and starting to take chances then we need people to come forward, that's the only way we know who to avoid before it gets to a Newegg level where people lose money and just walk away in frustration.

The anti-static bag of my motherboard was also open when it arrived. Everything seemed fine though and no fingerprints anywhere so I just assumed they did a courtesy bios update for me or something since it was a B450 board for the sake of memory / cpu compatibility.

This is the world now. Where something that slips through the cracks get's thrown back at the company as SUCKS! OBVIOUSLY THEY LIED! DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

It's one thing to complain, it's another to be a chop about it.

I've only had a good experience with them (dozens of orders) but I too have heard of people complaining about returns.

A close mate had a new GPU give issues on his newish high-end pc and wootware tested it to be fine. A few other GPU's of equal power consumption worked fine on his machine and he tried all the usual steps (DDU, format, etc). He had to sell it and buy something else.

I have no doubt wootware did test it to be fine. Sometimes there are just odd compatibility problems and although wootware is within their rights, it would be better if they went the extra mile to help their customers. A customer with a sour taste in their mouth won't buy from or recommend them again.

I'd gladly pay extra for that extra service.

I gotta ask, did you notice if the motherboard box seal was broken?
That's usually a big tell if it's manufacturer or part of the supply chain.
If I saw that, I'd take photos right away.
