Would cutting sim card into a nano sim work?

Checked with the guys at cellucity. They don't seem to have stock. They said that they placed an order for them but they haven't received the actual SIM cards (Vodacom only)

So their website is actually displaying incorrect info for the moment.

MTN cut my normal SIM to fit the SGS3. Everything seemed fine but then I got some issues with internet access over the network. Much trial and error showed it to be a problem with cutting the SIM.

Hmmm....I rather try with a prepaid sim for a while before trying to cut my sim up.

With mtn though, their network is really bad when it comes to 3G/ data. I have my normal sim in my galaxy s2 and Internet browsing and 3G are terrible. I noticed this issue recently, and their service is almost unusable at times. I've been with mtn for 7 years and data and 3G worked perfectly until recently. I tried Vodacom and cell c cards on my s2 so I know it's not my cell phone.

Definitely worth practicing first, anyone really worried should try and get a newish sim with smaller contacts, like these

When cutting down, you don't cut through much metal, only the extreme edges of the contact, far away from working contacts.

Quick marking on a template, shows just how little of the metal area actually needs cutting.

Anyone have any idea when we will see any Nano Sims from Mtn or if they already have stock like some of the vodacom outlets I have seen. I know they plan to roll them out in Nigeria first according to one of the blogs I checked.
