www.extremeshop.co.za

"Extremeshop, it's owners and agents are stricly not liable for any import duties costs! Note that you do not need an import license to order anything from us- but there is generally a small clearance fee that you have to pay for the item at your post office (your liability) which varies from R0 - R30 for most orders. The post office will not release your parcel is this is not paid, but most orders go through as a gift where you do not have to pay any fee. If you consider the extreme prices we offer for our products, this small clearance fee is still very competitive compared to other online shops in South Africa - remember that other shops also charge you a delivery/postage fee where we don't charge that at all!
Generally if your order contains more than one item, they will be shipped seperately to lower customs fees.
Your order will be placed with our warehouse in Hong Kong and if stock is available your order will be shipped to the address you provided (usually within 3-5 business days after payment has been confirmed) - if such an address has been wrongly entered by yourself on the site (extremeshop.co.za) it's owners and agents will not be liable for the delivery of your order, and no refunds will be issued."

They seem okay though, haven't tried them yet

Be wary about this one, customs are wising up to this. They can stop a product and if they think it's worth R2000 and the import duty is 18% that's another R360 you have to pay. And you can't bargain with them either.

Hate to resurface this thread, but regarding all the foumites that have purchased from Extremeshop - have your'll received your items?
My order number is 1333 :p

Well i've used Perkalgifts back in 2007. I did get my stuff, eventually.

Since gmail keeps all my mail for me, i could see i mailed them after 4 weeks asking where the stuff is [so they were taking too long] . After a slow response they eventually told me one item will only arrive 3 weeks later. I canceled that item and basically got the other items after about 5 weeks.

Dunno if they improved that, i assume as another poster said, all these companies import and it takes 4-6 weeks..standard, but they'll tell you it's 10 working days or 5 days or whatever.

I decided not to order from them, so I stil can't say if they're any good or not (I missed the free shipping deadline, and decided the price wasn't that good when you include shipping costs).

I order from Extremeshop and received my package. Although they out of stock when I order the item, but they kept me upto date about it.

Cool :)
How long did you wait for it?
From the time stock was available that is.

Customs VAT?

So these are actually just drop-shippers...
We pay the PO Customs Clearing fee, and we pay the Customs Import VAT as well?
Has anyone had any bad experiences with them?
Any warranties ever honoured?

I am also considering to get LED torches from them, but I thought their price includes custom duties/VAT?

I have and they are 100% legit and I'd recommend them... I got a cable for my Sony Ericson which would have cost about R400 here for R80...

Their prices include everything... As far as I can rememer.

Nothing you import can ever include any import tax. They (the shop) ain't customs so how would they know how much customs will charge you? The bigger items might get flagged and you would need to pay the import tax/fee at the post office before they release the package. Most of the times the packages are marked as a gift and gets through customs without a problem ... for now. Remember that Extremeshop.co.za is just a local wrapper for www.dealextreme.com - they change the prices to Rand and add a bit of profit. I always end up just ordering from Dealextreme directly because it works out cheaper.

lol what's with the bible quote at the bottom of the page?

No thanks... I want to shop not be preached to.

Spammers - part time - can't track them down

Hi, I've done some investigations and found that these guys are difficult to track down. I expect their website is down today because of the abuse they have decided to make by spamming hundreds of thousands of messages.

I dug up a cached page "Telephonic support is unfortunately not available, we endeavour to reply to all emails within 1 business day.
Extremeshop is a part-time run family business and we unfortunately do not have the time to provide telephonic support"

Stay away!

:(

I decided to use dealextreme.com directly instead of extremeshop as it's cheaper and easier to deal with supplier directly. Still waiting for my Torch, this is the 3rd week after it's dispatched via registed airmail form HK.
