Xbox Series X / S

Incidentally are there any FIFA 22 players in here also struggling to find matches? You'd swear there are barely any SA players on next gen. Haven't found a match-up in days. Yet playing Halo I get insta-matched.

Does halo infinite have local servers? Played last night and felt like UK latency to me.

I really battle to find matches too. I think the pool of players is just too small on next-gen. I qualified for the FUT Finals last weekend and could only find 5 games over the entire weekend. :(

I just try to stick to popular times like Wednesday and Friday evenings. The rest of the times I can search for an hour with no matches.

There are local servers but they're either limited or only get switched on during peak hours, because the rest of the time I end up on US servers (340ms). Not sure why we end up on US rather than UK. You can switch on the latency indictor under the Settings -> UI -> Network Statistics to check your current connection during gameplay.

I suspect its cause of SA's "scalper" pricing.

Not many South Africans earn enough to pay R7000 for an entry level console, let alone R12000 for high end.

If we where more inline with international pricing ie: R4500 for S and R7000 for Series X you would have found more SA players, not at current daylight robbing prices. I mean for example, I bought a PS5 over seas and got into SA for just over R7500, ie: R500 more than what I paid for my Series S locally.

Block the non-SA Azure servers on your router and you’ll consistently play at 20ms: https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/halo-infinite-multiplayer.1163590/post-28446704

Yah its shockingly over priced compared to overseas pricing. As more and more games will become next gen only the physical games sales will drop off locally until the local distributor catches a wakeup. But they might not be fazed as they are coining it all the way with their import monopoly and pricing?

Want to buy next gen but not at current pricing.
 
Hmmm. I see no Cyber Monday specials for Xbox Live Gold 12 months subscription anywhere.
But I DO see that CD Keys have a subscription for R481- for Turkey. I googled region locked XBL and see that it can be bypassed simply by using a VPN when activating the voucher on MS.com. Thereafter no need to use the VPN after you have redeemed.

R100 cheaper than Egifts24. Worth the risk? :unsure:

Don't know about your account, but have waaay to many games linked to my account to risk R100 on something like that.

If you’re on the eBucks bandwagon and don’t use up your Checkers earn cap, then I would go for eGifts24 and pay via SCode at Checkers for 15% back in eBucks.

Been checking the ebucks shop app morning... I think they had the 40% Checkers discount last year on BF or Cyber Monday...

Isn't this a game issue? I mean I have both FIFA 21 and FIFA 22 on my Series X and I only ever got 1 match on 22. I never struggle to get matches on 21.

It's the only reason I still play/have 21 on my console, because I can actually find matches. Guess when 22 becomes available for free on Gamepass then maybe matches will be available easily.

I play Seasons though, not FUT.

yup I suspect its because its on GamePass. I guess if you have to look at how many people have a series X AND went and got FIFA22 for R1k.....maybe the numbers aren't go good. I managed to find 2 games on Sunday. That was all. I think its definitely gone down though - I was finding more games several weeks ago, but I think people have moved on to Forza etc. Sigh...
