Xbox Series X / S

Saw on my Vodacom app they had the Black Friday special for the Series S is/was something in the region of R2000 !! Sold out in seconds lol !!

Special ain't there anymore :(

5 minutes ago? Hours ago?

I'm sure it was from Friday, and the wife just corrected me - the PS4 bundle was R2000 and the Series S was R3000 Black Friday special - nothing listed on the app anymore !

So yeah, I only saw this last night - I was like WTF !! how did I miss this ! I'm looking for another Xbox or PS4 for my sibling.

PS4 was ~R2000, as well as the xbox series s.

Who would have thought? A console that costs half the price of the others and is readily available is selling well.

Was enough to make me switch from PS. If there is no PS to buy (regardless of the price) then there is no PS to buy. And now I'm kinda liking it and asking myself if I do upgrade to one of the premium consoles will I really pick the PS over the X? Probably not.

So well played MS.

Sony still has a strong position with their exclusive IP, it's why a lot of people will pick PS over XB. For people who don't care about those exclusive titles it makes no sense to by a PS5, unless you really like how it looks or something.

For me personally the S meant I can have my feet in both doors without breaking the bank. So, grateful for that.

It lets me:
A Shop around and go for whoever offers best pricing on 3rd party games.
B Enjoy both systems exclusives.
C Compare the eco-systems for myself, without some bias youtuber's view.

I love my X, but I couldn't really go from one X to an S.

As a PC gamer, I can totally see why the Series S is well positioned to grab some market share. Got a Xbox Series S on the way (black friday deal). Excited! The last time I owned a console, it was the SNES.

I purchased Borderlands GOTY last night for my Series S. Lekker smooth smooth framerate, but jinne my bru, it's so hard shooting these meide with a controller.

Maybe I should play around with my sensitivity settings. So used to keyboard & mouse.

It's only going to last so long though. In the mean time they can't match the value provided by GP. Especially when every MS exclusive is going to launch day 1 on GP, along with many third party games...

My Series X won’t download Xbox exclusives like Forza Horizon/Motorsport, Flight Sim etc. It also won’t download updates for the Microsoft Store.

I know the Microsoft/Xbox support websites like the back of my hand now because I’ve tried every troubleshooting tip I could find there. Interacting with live support got me nowhere.

Has anyone here ever experienced this issue with their Series X? If so, how did you troubleshoot it?

I’ve since ordered a replacement (under warranty) from Microsoft. I’ve been waiting for a few weeks now because they don’t have stock.

What do you mean by it won't download? Does it give an error? Is it stuck on "downloading" but nothing is happening? What sort of internet do you have, and is it reliable? Is the Xbox connected via cable or Wifi? If cable, have you tried a different one? If Wifi, is the signal strong?

If you go into settings >> General >> Network settings >> Test network connection, what does it say?
