You specifically mention XBox exclusives. Does it download other games that you own? Are you a Game Pass subscriber or did you purchase those games?

They get stuck on Updating/Downloading @ 0% until I get a message saying “Installation stopped”.

I have fibre 20 up 20 down. I’ve tried this with WiFi and a wired connection. I’m currently on a wired connection.

I am on Gamepass Ultimate. Yesterday I purchased two games from the Microsoft Store Black Friday Sale: GTA 5 and Forza Horizon 4. GTA 5 did download successfully but FH4, as you can see in my screenshot, wasn’t successful. I thought Gamepass was the problem so buying the game outright would solve the issue, it did not.

Every other game that is not an Xbox exclusive will download successfully. My WiFi signal is strong and the fibre connection is very reliable. I have tried 2 different Ethernet cables with the same results. When I test my internet connection using the Xbox I get a message saying “It’s all good. Your console is connected to the internet”.

Try a hard restart to clear your cache. Turn off, unplug power for a few minutes, restart...

I understand. It’s a strange problem to have. Even MS Support are scratching their heads. I guess I’ll have to take my console to Kempton Park as soon as my replacement unit arrives.

Has your store finish update? I had a similar issue where forza 4 didn't want to run. Everytime when I tried starting it, it would give me a black screen and then take me to the Xbox dashboard.

I updated the store, and after I clicked on the game a update came up to download and it worked after that.

The MS Store won’t update. The progress bar remains at 0% until I get a message saying “Installation stopped”. A part of me does suspect that this issue will go away if I find a way to update the store.
 
That is one crazy problem @YeLo !

Have you tried taking your console somewhere else, like a friend to see if it updates there? I know it's unlikely but maybe it's an ISP or router problem.

That’s something to consider @Solitude. Thank you for the idea. I’ll give it a try.
 
Just got a call from Seabourne Express telling me my replacement unit is ready for collection. I’ll collect tomorrow. Hopefully the replacement unit works fine. I’ll give you all an update tomorrow afternoon.

Right now Xbox doesn't have any exclusive that I really care for, Sony just has the kind of exclusives that appeal to me. We'll see if all the MS acquisitions start paying off this generation though, they sure have bought up enough studios.

Game Pass can have a million games and cost R50 a year, if it doesn't have games I want to play it doesn't help. I like having GP though to try out things that I would normally skip over and playing older games.

Out of interest's sake. What games do you normally play?

I can't get to all the games that I want to play before they get taken off of Game Pass. However, taking so long with AC Valhalla probably didn't help.

Personally I get what he is saying. I have a PS5 purely for the exclusives:
God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted, Spiderman, Days Gone and such.

Microsoft was lacking when it came to those type of games, well before Bethesda acquisition, will see going forward...

I really like the story driven action/adventure type games, a lot of the first party Sony stuff is exactly this like Horizon, God of War, Uncharted, Last of Us, the new Spiderman games, etc. These first party games also tend to release in a mostly finished state so first impressions are generally always pretty solid.
 
I guess those games just don't appeal to me. Or the ones that do don't justify buying the PS5. But it's good that there's competition.

I play on PC and XBox. And PC and PS5 makes sense too.
 
I bought Metro Exedus. Looks like a lekke game.

Gold Edition. Lekke cheep too.

That and Borderlands GOTY. Don't want games to vriet too much of my geld.
