Xbox Series X / S

I am trying to fight the urge to splurge but also telling myself it's for research purposes so I can better advise her :giggle:. I can't say it's to assist her 2 boys as they will probably teach me a thing or 2. Just thought I needed to get this off my chest.

Haha how old are you? I'm 42 and have loved gaming since I can remember.

What's your age? You're never too old, that's an 80s/90s thing when there was a belief that "TV games" are for kids.

I work with a guy in his 50s that's heavy into PC gaming, always has the latest components etc. He games with his teenage kids, it's another form of bonding...

I bought some controllers just to amuse my niece playing silly games on Apple Arcade. One thing led to another, anyways, now I have a Series X. First ever console, age 38.

I'm in my early 50s. Don't get me wrong, I am not like upset or anything negative about the idea of getting an Xbox but just a bit shocked and more surprised (in a nice way) that I suddenly have this urge to buy one. My kids, when they were younger, still had the Xbox 360 and I never played with it or any of the computer games they had, to suddenly wanting one. They're adults now so will probably have a good laugh when I show what I have bought.
I think one thing that got me really interested is the F1 GP game. The graphics looks amazing, almost like the real thing on TV. That's probably the 1st game I'll get.

Know plenty of gamers in their 50’s and one grandmother well into her 60’s who has every console since the PS1 still in full swing.

Never too late.

My dad is in his 70s and plays games, sure it's simulators and stuff but he still does it.

I don't play a lot but do use the Xbox for media and it needs a charge every few days. When I game, it feels like it needs to be charged daily or every second day. Defs not 12 hours of gaming.

With standard AA non rechargeable Duracell batteries = months of use.

The other issue with the rechargeables is the Xbox battery level indicator goes from full to empty with nothing inbetween. Perhaps it's just my controller but fine with normal batteries.

I find the Duracell rechargeables to be the worst - Enerloop or Uniross have served me well for years.
 
“100% real capacity” - I’m convinced :laugh:

It is strange that you can buy the lithium disposables here, but rechargeables isn’t a thing

If/when the Powerex dies or I get some Li-ion AA/AAA I'll be getting this charger.

R665 (excl shipping) is a decent price - I remember paying around R900 for the Powerex back in 2015 - it's given me excellent service over the years and still going strong.
