Xbox Series X / S

So bought another series X second hand, paid R10k for it and it was only a month or 2 old.
Now my old One X has been moved to my son's room and the One S has gone to a good home who only had the original one.

Xbox has revamped the Games & Apps library with a new interface

Above mentioned new UI now in Beta ring...

Also spotted rolling out in select regions:

GamePass Family edition:

So will roughly cost about R299-R349pm if it's going to cost $25pm. Not bad for parents who have multiple consoles/gaming devices in the home and have 1 or two spots left to share with other family members or friends

Shooo Sony taking out all the stops to increase profits?

Over the last 12 months:
Releases a similar gamempass service.
Cried to the Brazilian government to stop the Activision Microsoft deal.
Increased games from $60.to $70 because of inflation (or that's what I think it is).
Stops, no wait pays developers/publishers from putting games on game pass

And they still have to increase prices!

Sony for the gamers .....

Don't forget them cutting down on the copper and aluminium heatsinks to save on material costs. New PS5s will weigh about 500-600g less than launch models for more money!

And they will still be gobbled up and outsell the X.

Smart move. They are a business after all.

Sony have a much longer history of being "for the gamers" than Microsoft do, thats for sure. I was a PS guy all the way up to PS4. Have been since original PS days and never bought an XBOX before now. This generation I got a Series X and Microsoft are just getting it right. GamePass is awesome, games are priced well, they've dropped their previously anti-consumer practices (like needing Gold in order to play online) and the console is solid, outperforming the PS5. In the last year my monthly fee for Game Pass Ultimate DROPPED from R149 to R119 for everything! And now they are introducing family and friends passes. Its one good thing after another this gen for Xbox. They are leading the way, and Sony are following and trying hard to keep pace.

I think that PS consumers are probably working off of loyalty and muscle memory. I cant see the exclusives as enough reason to buy the console, especially given that I just picked up God of War on PC for a very reasonable price. Sony are not leading the way this gen for gamers. PS Plus feels like its taken forever to arrive and runs at a higher cost, games cost more, consoles cost more, performance isn't as good (doesnt make a huge difference though).

Its like the roles have been reversed. Microsoft is now like the Sony of the PS3 era and Sony are like the Microsoft of the 360 era.
