1. I set mine at the weakest security level. I don't have kids so I don't want to be bothered by that. Start up XBox and do whatever.A few questions though
- Which security level is the preference? I went for the middle ground, having it all open seems nuts but having to type in a P@sSW0rD each time is also a pain in the butt. Pro-tip, if you have the mobile app linked to the console you can copy paste your password from your mobile based password manager
- Sign in with the gamepad, what's the point? Seems like a minor convenience, the pin barely takes 5 seconds to enter
- EA play, I thought that was under GP already but some brief searching suggests only 15 Dec? Some nice couch coop games in there that I'd like to try

Eish I hope Takelot get stock of the Series X soon. I am planning on buying with eBucks and they seem to be the only option left.
Mine has also now, with no explanation, and after they promised it would come today. My takealot JHB date now changed to 13 November.

Takealot and Prima Interactive really messed something up with their logistics it seems, very dissapointing.
Hmm, cause when I looked at some of the games marked EA play it didn't give me an install option, but look on MS store. And once in the store it asks to sign up for EA play for 3 Euro p/m (or whatever the amount is). I'll have to check again tonight, maybe I'm just a noob clicking random things15 December is for PC?
Xbox had the EA Play list added around 19h00? I was in GamePass when I got home then watched a movie and came back and was shocked with the sheer volume of games suddenly available.
Security ditto for us on Solitude's response.
That would be awesome indeed, I would be happy with that rechargable battery kit or game pass ultimate credits tooThey should give an extra controller or something to make up for the frustration caused.

Yep, I set it to the non-eco friendly mode, and incorrectly assumed it would remain on.Mine is set to Turn off After 1hr of inactivity and my power mode is 'Instant On'.
Completely missed it. Barely spent an hour on the thing.Yes, It does seem to have a power save/auto off function.
Yep, I kicked out of that Portal bridge game so fast, it ain't funny. Must still get a hang of it all.My thoughts after the first night:
- Muscle memory is a bitch since I'm used to PC gaming where your thumb does almost nothing whereas now it does almost everything
Hows everyone's experience with the HDMI-CEC control of the Series X from your TVs? While the Xbox can turn my Samsung Q70R on and off, it doesn't seem like my TV can turn the XBox on when switching to the HDMI1 source, unlike my OG Xbox One. Also, commands from the TV's remote (to navigate menus etc using the D-pad) don't seem to be passed to the Series X either.
So after having a mini heart attack thinking that I messed up the upgrade from Gold to GP I can thankfully confirm I am indeed subbed to GP ultimateDo you have Gamepass or Gamepass Ultimate?
EA Play is only in Ultimate sub. If you only have Normal I am gonna call you an ID 10 T![]()
Yup, all boxes for HDMI-CEC control are checked on my Xbox, and everything should be enabled from the TVs side. Doesn't seem to be a known issue. I know getting CEC to work is sometimes a pain and the devices don't always recognise each other properly first time.I don't use TV remote, but I did see on the Series S there was options in settings for Remote HDMI settings? Have you checked that?
Edit: Check known issues as well?

My wife will flat out refuse to use RiiPlex does run, as for remote I am in the process of testing different ones.
I don't have a Plex server so can not test streaming or such.

"that doesn't look like a remote" - it's why she loves the Roku - one button to press![]()
I ordered the previous version of this remote from Amazon UK last year. Shipping and taxes aren't too bad. Then there is only 1 option
Xbox Media Remote That I cant seem to find anywhere in SA... Or the official one that I did not see yet.
