Xbox Series X / S

Does anybody know of any relaxing / uplifting Xbox games? It seems the bulk all involve killing demons, mutants, aliens or zombies ... and that's not necessarily that fun. So that leaves sports games and car games (and Farming Simulator), but I was hoping for something a bit less stressful that still had some variety.
Ori and will of the whisps is pretty damn good. And looks amazeballs.

Dying to see Forza, still downloading. Played some gears 5 and it’s just amazing. All this for the price of a mid range gaming rig.
As a PC gamer, I am still confused as to how one play point and shoot games without a mouse. I even tried Rainbow six and got my ass handed to me over and over and over again in like the test/training thing for over an hour. Even text entry is painful! My USB keyboard was plugged into the box within 2 minutes of starting up the xbox. Unfortunately my USB mouse did not want to work.

As things stand right now, this console thing aint for me.

Network seems to be OK. Just Downloads that is giving issues...

Not been playing online at all, 100% local multiplayer/family games so far.

Took me a LONG time to get comfortable with a controller in FPS. I was always a PC player so was bad with a controller. I persevered and am now better with a controller and a mouse lol. Just comes down to training the brain and muscle memory.

Practice practice practice. Also came from pc and struggled a lot with FPS games on controller. Why don't you just dive into the deep side and play Doom Eternal. It will give you a good workout. Sink or swim. Lol.

Same story with me. I felt so clumsy with a controller for (what felt like) the longest time but eventually got the hang of it. I'm only worse on kb&m now because I don't get practice with it anymore but a keyboard in the living room just doesn't work for me so I stuck with the controller.

I can recommend Untitled Goose Game and The Touryst. They don’t necessarily have the most variety, but they’re a nice change of pace if you just want to play something a bit more chill.

The two Ori games are absolutely fantastic - it's a platformer with magnificent music, visuals and smooooooth gameplay - cannot praise it enough

I was once a Quake 3 champ on kb mouse. I would get my ass handed to me now. As you say no practice.

When I started Modern warfare when it came out I had the sensitivity on 1 because anything more would throw me off and I would just go in a circle. :D I am now on sensitivity 7, much faster and I can now play the damn game without getting destroyed.

I been FPS kb & m since I bought 1st Doom as shareware on a single 3.5" stiffy at Software Connection (Before IC was a thing) in Braamfontein as a student at Wits. <-- Yeah I'm that old ;)

I ownd that game, back in the dorms and even at LANs and beyond. I evolved with Quake, Unreal Tribes & Tournaments that followed. My natural hand rest when sitting in front of a PC is WASD & mouse.

I tried console FPS, I really tried real hard .... I .... Just... can not do it captain. :D

I tried some FPS this weekend, I don't have the patience to try learn how to shoot with a controller. Maybe (maaaybe) once I've gotten bored of both the Forza games I'll do the grind to learn how to shoot. Although I'll admit I did try it on the default sensitivity so that would be my starting point (to lower it).

I'm also already thinking of getting some cheap controllers for the kids so that they can get into a bit easier, no signing in, switching users and all that jazz , just pick up your controller and go

Haha that brings back memory's. My first game was Wolfenstein on a 3.5 stiffy. Bought it from Bruma lake felee market. :D

The frustration in learning is very high, my controller has been air born a few times.

Any comments on the controller? It is slightly different. Subtle changes. It feels a bit more premium, it feels slightly heavier. The triggers have this slight clicky feel / sound, well at least my left one does, I actually quite like it, dunno why.

Wolfenstein was not the same.... had Arrow keys for movement and CRTL + ALT for Fire & Open :p (Also Why I did not mention that) Doom was the 1st game that gave an option to use WASD instead of the then standard arrow assignment.

True, not the same. Doom was amazing at the time, I can still remember the feeling of sitting playing it and being blown away.

I like it. The new grippy texture is awesome, they should have that on everything. Apparently the Elite 2 controller is even better (with real metal, dude), but at R4500 just for the controller I guess I'll stick with this for now
