Xbox Series X / S

Just bought myself an XBOX Series X over the weekend. Traditionally I've been a Playstation and PC gamer but that's not an option here yet. I skipped the last generation entirely to focus on PC, and the thing that swayed me this generation was that in order for my to get the 3060 GPU's I'd probably need a faster CPU to prevent a bottleneck, and that means a motherboard etc. It was going to be R20k+ to play unoptimised games like Cyberpunk and I just don't have the appetite for it. So pulled the trigger on the X, and with Gamepass, very happy I did. Finding lots of cool stuff to play - Currently busy with UFC3 and Cricket 2019 lol
Welcome to the club. I'm two months into ownership and I still haven't bought a game because of Gamepass :D

Interesting confirmation that I found older games using waaay less power than current gen.

Picked up a 30-40W drop on Series S playing older games during last load shedding schedule. (Was watching use vs battery load)

That's pretty neat, possibly in backwards compatibility mode the console switches off features that the older games aren't able to take advantage of.

Mk11 ultimate was like R200 on steam ! ...

Paid R600 on Xbox store special back in Dec ..

I saw Dirt 5 is coming to GP on the 25th of Feb

Problem with GamePass games is that they don't include DLC's. So games I really like I buy GOTY/Ultimate/gold editions.

Only play GamePass games where I don't see myself buying the game or its DLC's

I've owned almost all the Dirt games including their DLC's so was a no brainer to buy 5 + Year 1 regardless of its appearance on GamePass or not :D

Yessssss PDP Talons are in stock at Takealot!!! (Media Remote)

Does GamePass allow users access to any game including new releases?

Thanks. Early stages of deciding which console to get for the lytie.

Then it depends more on age & friends and what they play than what the economical reasoning is to be honest.

Example: if he is 14 and his friends all got GTA5 on PS5's he will be the odd one out. <-- not a good place to be in school ;)

Here's a list of all the games that are available:

or the official list but then you have to make sure to set it to console:

I know I've asked this before, but anyone know of legit charging stations that work on the Series controllers....I have not seen any in SA. Preferably one that has its own power unit and is not dependant on a console USB port - those are for my external storage

Look for the Sparkfox W20X504. They retail for <R400, if you can get stock. You will have to get a normal 2.1A USB charger though, but those are cheap as of late.

Oooh Assassins Creed Sale for next 5 Days.

I own and would highly recommend:
AC Origin Deluxe Edition (R232)
AC Odyssey Gold (R435) (Includes all the DLC's and AC 3:remastered)

I recently finished Origin +2 x DLC's in 112 hours and busy with Odyssey, only 12 hours in and I would already rate Odyssey as best AC to date. Both well worth playing.

Also if you want almost complete series (Bar DLC's) check out:
Enzo Collection (R210) AC 2, AC Brotherhood and AC Revelations
Triple Pack (R363) AC Black Flag, AC Unity and AC Syndicate
Origin (R200)
Odyssey (R300)

For a Total of only = R1073

And if you must, the latest Valhalla (R840)
Personally I'm def picking up Enzo collection and the Triple Pack as I am planning to revisit them on console, will wait till end of the year before I touch Valhalla.

Edit: Update, watch tipple pack price. buying the games separate is cheaper. (3 x R119) Only noticed this cause wanted Syndicate Gold Edition.

I've had Origins since launch but not yet played it, I also picked up Oddysee at the Musica clearance for R250. Or free depending on which game out of the 3 I choose to be free.
I only just started Tomb Raider Rise of the Tomb Raider recently and I'm glad I waited for the Series X :-)

Also bought Tomb Raider and Rise when they where on sale (Got Shadow of the Tomb on PS) planning to mix them into my rotation with Darksidesrs and such. Soooo many games so little time esp when I mix them with GamePass once (like Dirt 5 today) :(

I need a clone to come work while I game.
