Bark - somewhat decent text to speech that can do more than just speech, with laughs, sighs, some singing and music, a few sound effects, etc. It's not as good as Elevenlabs for text to speech, it's somewhat limited (can only do 15 seconds at a time) and has some strange bugs occasionally, but it will only get better, it can be run on your local PC, and it's free.

Look for the chipset used by the USB device, then look for drivers/install help. I needed to install most of my USB wifi drivers. I'm not a well versed Linux user (Manjaro and Kali) but once you identify the chipset and its supported on your distro, its not hard to get a tutorial or how to, to install it.I've got a USB TP Link adapter that works with Kali and Parrot on Virtualbox
