Zaps Online sucks

First and last time I use Zaps.

This is such typical SA mentality. Have one bad experience & you condemn them & their business to hell. LOL

I would never write a supplier off over 1 bad experience. Hell man, I even gave iBurst like 4 chances before I knew they were the worst service provider EVER! Unforeseen circumstances happen now & again. Plan well & order your stuff in advance & things like this will be avoided. I am not making excuses nor saying its ok but give them a break. Have you never made a mistake at work? Were you afforded the opportunity to fix it or did you get fired?

I personally don't use ZAPS by choice. I use Kalahari & Take 2 & I have had nothing but great service from them both.

That's one huge generalisation. Some people do commend good service, k? I guess you have never seen or read the Praise Wall threads or others that do pop up.

Judging from his number of posts I would say know but do you blame him? There are WAY more complaints about service than compliments. Thats how things work unfortunately. Hello Peter is a perfect example of sour village idiots who live by complaining. Go look at some stats:

35 Complaints
0 Compliments

When I see that, I don't even read further, I KNOW they are the problem. I feel the same as you though, people need to compliment on great service too. Bad news does spread faster than good news but at some point people need to wake up & realize people make mistakes, like they do.

Yes it's a generalization, but a very fair generalization. Also let me explain why 1 thread can damage rep much more then build rep through a praise wall.

If a praise wall is huge, people read it, but not everyone will get a chance to go through everything and praise can be missed. One thread with the company's name etc, is bad because everyone already just sees the name in the title and, in turn, will generalize that company just from one complaint regardless of whether it's fair or petty.

Actually - SA mentality is that ****ty service is ok.

Again I'll say it. This is not just a South African problem. You just say that because you live in South Africa. Full stop. There's other people with that same mentality around the world and say the same about their own countries. So please.

The South African mentality is to complain. Yes you get the people who commend service and reward good service etc. but the majority just complain, even when they are in fact wrong. Hellopeter is a good show of this mentality.

This is because we've been brought up to believe that the customer is "always right" whereas in most cases, the customer is wrong (not talking about stupid sales reps in places like incredible corruption, etc.). And who gives any customer the right to complain when they're wrong. (this statement is in general, not aimed at OP)

Um - I've lived in other countries - The service in SA is crap... for even the smallest thing. Full stop.

When bad service is accepted, it becomes the norm - if you don't like people complaining, don't listen to them - its as simple as that... Full stop.

So now its up to you to decide who can and can't be wrong, i.e. Incredible Connection?

DISCLAIMER :: I'm commenting on SA service, not Zaps.

Lol my brother also complains about service in London, and places he's gone on holiday. Stop being so headstrong, bad service is a global problem because all services are run by people and nobody is perfect... Service in SA is not perfect, yes there's bad service, but also great service, same as it is everywhere else around the world

People can complain all they want, don't get me wrong here, I complain too. Having said that, there's a fine line between complaining and going out of your way to ruin their company name just for your own satisfaction.

I said incredible corruption because it's a common known fact that they're a retailer who feeds on consumers' lack of knowledge and knowingly rips off just because they can. And they hire people who either don't know what they're doing or will go out of their way to mess a customer around for higher commission, even if it's to the detriment of the customer. I didn't come start a whole thread about how they suck, stay away etc. I don't like them, others use them because it's easier or they don't research properly. I don't make my problem about me not liking the way they do business others' problem

I had good service with them. Bought two used games. The website however definitely needs upgrading. It's the only real reason I don't tend to visit the site.

If you deal with people there is bound to be problems some where along the line..

It would be nice if there was a sticky thread with the account names of individuals that represent each of the online stores. Then consumers on mybb can pm them directly and if it really is a huge complaint like they ran off with your cash then post a thread about it...

I phoned today and was told that some noob processed my payment but didn't process the order. Like WTF? The dude I spoke to, Chris, told me he could either give me a refund, or do the order.

BuyerDude: Dude, where's my parcel?
SellerDude: Like, dude I forgot to process it.
BuyerDude: Dude, wtf?
SellerDude: Dude, my bad, I'm a noob.
BuyerDude: Dude, I'm going to post this on myBB.
SellerDude: No ways dude, just don't tell them my name is Chris ...<pause>... Ahh, firetruck!

Good on Tinav/Zaps for replying here. That's a good thing IMO

I love zaps! And Chris is a good oke~

I would definitely buy more from them if I had more money...and if I move back to SA

It happens like that, demon angel, we tend to be the same with food, if we have a bad experience we get put off the food, same as online, just online is more risky, if you have a wrong encounter your going to be put off, my prefrence is prophecy then zaps...just me though>>>>>>

How long do these zaps guys take usually to respond after placing an order?

I ordered my HAF-X case like 2 months ago, they told me they don't have in stock.
He asks me if I want to cancel, to which I reply "no", i'll wait...

He said the haf-x cases will be available from october, and he will let me know when they are available.....
okay, no problem.

Still haven't heard a thing - and, when I called their store saturday, guess what they tell me...?

"Oh, sorry sir, we sold our last stock yesterday"

okay - so I pre-ordered 2 months ago and other people get it before me? they have stock but don't inform me? Great!

so I order again yesterday..... No reply, nothing.

So how long does it take them to simply tell me if they have stock or they don't or what's going on? Do I have to wait another 2 months or something?

Thanks for the Quick and friendly help Tinav, I really appreciate it.

Update - We had emailed Keeper earlier today to inform him that our suppliers are now in stock of this item and to arrange payment.

I think that this might be a good opportunity to try and clear up an issue that arises from time to time.

Zaps and Zaps Online although they are owned by the same people and operate from the same building are run as separate entities.

One of the ways that Zaps Online is able to offer lower pricing and a much wider product range than Zaps is that they do not carry any stock at all but will order in what ever you need.

They do not share stock with Zaps retail.

We have tried to explain this on our site as clearly and simply as we can and why if you phone the retail side to check on stock you will be asked to pay the retail price and not the online price.

Please feel free to pm me or mail me directly [email protected] if you have any questions regarding this.

Its a pleasure K - i know how frustrating it can be when something is out of stock for long time - did they give you an ETA on your case?
