Zest T1

It will not work. I did try it with and without battery. It only did the procedure without battery.

So the Zest T1 I got is now dead, power button is broken. Now to deal with the RMA, thing is its honestly so badly built I don't really want a replacement.
 
So they won't do money back on the device but Afrihosts support turnaround has been extremely good thus far. Pity Zest Mobile couldn't make a decent device, if it gets replaced and not repaired will just try and sell it and find an alternative phone.

They didn't manufacture the phone. They just bought a bulk lot and added their branding.

I used mine for a few hours and couldn't take it any more.
 
So here is the feedback regrading my repair/fix.

They guys from Afrihosts warehouse department arranged for my collected and delivered to them overnight (Dawn Wing Courier). They looked at the phone next day.
In their final report they stated that they loaded the latest firmware and tested the phone again, according to them all is fine. I am still to test the phone for myself. According to them (yesterday) I could expect delivery sometime next week (this is probably the doing of CCD).

I hope for their sake that it was a firmware issue that lead to the excessive heating and failure of the flash.
 
Returned my device for a full refund which I got credited only after a month of waiting.

Please read their terms carefully on ZEST website. Are afrihost still selling them or are they sold out..

I couldn't handle it,2nd device was DOA after 5hours of use,constant reboot cycle.
 
So I got my phone back from repairs today.
And guess what. IT F*****g comes back with the same problem. I am extremely annoyed with them (Afrihost) :mad:. I thought the bad service ended when I tried getting my phone fixed via Zest direct.

I feel like I deserve a refund + interest for this incompetence.

Please everybody that reads this, DO NOT BUY A ZEST! spend a little more, get something a bit more reliable.

Due to Afrihosts no EFT payments policy I finished up spending a little less on a Gobii ivP which I'm very happy with :)

I got the same error on Windows 8 - floating point 3.145 (or something similar) I changed my Region settings to US because decimal points were commas (,) and not decimals (.)

Anybody still have WiFi connection issues? My WiFi connection on the Zest T1 only lasts for about 30 seconds and then the connection drops. Zest Mobile says they have not had this issue before, but I am pretty sure I saw similar issues on a thread here somewhere.

Anyone have this issue or can suggest a fix?
 
No issues from my side. My phone is behaving itself very well. Just having some issues with the MTN network today but it's probably the network itself and not the phone.

Mines been fine. Over 2Gb on wifi so far this month & very easy on the battery as well.

Mine works on WiFi 24/7, because that 1gb is just not enough. I experienced a similar problem with my old HTC where it just did not want to connect or if it did connect it would drop a few seconds later, yet my friends could connect to the network without an issue using their fancy Galaxy phones. I think the problem could be with the security that you have on the wifi, because this only started happening to me when the method of authentication changed.
 
My Zest T1 dropped me again yesterday. Was busy with an important banking transaction when the phone just died without warning. It remained unresponsive until I plugged it in. It started charging and the battery indicated that about 33% of juice was available.

Since when is 30% the new 0%?
 
my first zest t1 I received lost information when the phone was switched off . I received another one the next day after i complained.
however on the replacement one the GPS does not work. they told me to do a hardware reset , did it still no GPS. Now I have been told to download the partition file . i am currently trying it now.

i have downloading the file twice and windows cannot open the zip file says invalid. I am trying to download it again. Also the file size shows 1gig but download stops before that. Will try again and keep posted.

Another Problem the usb plug in opposite then from other phones and the replacement one does not work with all charges , where as the first one work with all usb charges.

the phone also lacks a compass and gyro which my previous phones had.

this phone should have been tested for some time before it was released.

Sorry to hear about your issues, A while back I uploaded the partition file to Google Drive when Zest ran out of bandwidth (which is ridiculous, but anyway)- so try this if you don't come right with their site - clickety click
 
I'm not too sure what is going on, but when I got given the number for the Cape Town repair center, it was not a Cape Town repair center....it was the Johannesburg one that said it was R250 to courier the phone back to me once a quote/repair was done. :(
