Zuma makes apartheid aside

Is there anything out there that suggests other wise and backs it up with data? I certainly haven't seen it. I just go with what the best available data suggests.

you know what?

FACK THE DATA!!! :D stats can be used to prove anything....

I use my common sense and logic, and guess what. It tells me that every corner I turn I see robbery/murder all the time. So when I see stats that are telling me that violent crimes are down I roll my eyes, because someone, somewhere is rather deluded. Buts its OK because that will get them more votes.

You can't take the Rooster too seriously. If he found someone who held the exact same views as him, on everything, he would still disagree with them. He enjoys argument more than he enjoys agreement. Agreement is not stimulating, it is not challenging.

It is called trolling, the main reason he has been banned about 12 times:o

CHA-CHIIIING!! Ed Zacchary!

It's like Major ShowerPower telling us last night that edzumikashuns is on the up because we had more matriculants pass than before. Suuuurre, dufus. Anything you say.

This is why we need data and perhaps in your case anti-psychotics. Human beings are fallable and easily manipulated by fearmongering and alarmism into "perceiving" things that just aren't there.

And you dont see Zuma's slight at apartheid as fearmongering on a slightly more subtle level? Reminding the blacks of what would happen if they didn't vote for ANC?

...because the worst way he could insult the A.N.C he is angry with was to say it. That's how bad this guy wants the A.N.C to know he's angry , he is calling it as bad as Apartheid ! Just so we can all know the extent to which he thinks the A.N.C sucks he compares to to the worst thing black people have experienced.

LOL rooster, now you reading peoples minds?

You see robbery and murder around every corner ? You see ? This is why we need data and perhaps in your case anti-psychotics. Human beings are fallable and easily manipulated by fearmongering and alarmism into "perceiving" things that just aren't there. I don't want to go into this in much detail but one thing that is reported very accurately is murder and cause of death. Not only by the government but by the police (at all levels) insurance companies, hospitals, the department of home affairs etc. It would require a massive conspiracy to meddle with murder statistics. Even a "lost" document at a police stations won't affect the accuracy of the outcomes. Somewhere this murder is getting into the system and being cross checked to form the statistic. But you are free to believe what you want. Old Mutual for example is a massive company with hundreds of highly qualified, non government aligned risk assesment actuaries who will tell you there is a consensus around the murder rate published by the S.A.P.S.

Rooster, dont take this the wrong way man, but you really are a waste of space and could do with less of your kind in our country. We need people who are prepared to admit there is a problem, and then move towards recifying it... Not sticking their heads in the sand like an ostrich (while flapping your wings=arguing with everyone in sight)

This is how I see you, trying sooo hard to justify/rationslise/argue everything while flapping your wings going totally nuts... except your head is in the sand.

Having said that, Im not gonna argue with you anymore. Im sure we could all leave here, and you would debate with yourself for the rest of the weekend.

Im sure you will wanna have the last word, thats cool... I'll let you have it :)

He meant the new apartheid of separating the rich and middle classes from the poor.

Surely the person ignoring and denying the best available facts is the one with their head in the sand ? I don't see a single word from anyone here that says we don't have a crime problem anyway, so who are you talking to ?

There is a difference between we have a crime problems that is getting worse and one that is getting better. A big difference. But it's still a crime problem and who is denying it ?

Backpedaling much?

BTW rooster, how is that "kill all whitey" blog of yours doing?

I'm sure these people also "perceived" something that was just not there? Sad part is that this wasn't the only such story from this week, not by a long shot.

I'm sure the family of these victims would be absolutely touched by your insight on just what exactly is and isn't "there". Think I'll step out round about now but before I do, here's a gigantic middle finger from me to you, pal. Catch you on the next incarnation! ;)

Well as I see people bidding you goodbye for the weekend I feel obligated to also give you a middle finger and ask you this

"What are you trying to prove ?"

Unfortunately this thread has gone a bit off topic, however!

I have checked your claims regarding white unemployment in South Africa, and latest government figures are nearly on par at 5.5%. For those who would like to find them, they are here:

http://www.statssa.gov.za/publications/statsdownload.asp?PPN=P0211&SCH=4852

Whether you choose to trust those statistics is up to you. And the fact that they are published along racial lines in the first place is very telling and pretty sad in my opinion.

I have yet to find any statistics that back up your claims regarding crime and the economy regarding the difference between 1994 / 2010. Perhaps you would be kind enough to post links to 'authoritative' sources.

I do know however that in 1996 the rand / pound exchange rate was around R6.35 / 1 and it is now around R11.68 / 1 and at one stage reached R20 / 1. Economics was never my forte, and some people believe having a week currency is a good thing (COSATU), that is not what I believe, as I say, me and economics are an anathema.

You argue, and are sometimes eloquent in your argument, and you also pretend to be stupid when it suits your purposes, but you always seem to push a particular agenda even though you strenuously deny that you do. You also reply to counter arguments very selectively.

I am not sure if you are a DA (or whoever) supporter trying to drum up emotion against the ANC, or an ANC supporter trying to convince DA (or whoever) supporters to question their choice. Either way, it smacks of manipulation, and I don't like that at all.

I would be keen to know who you are going to vote for in the next municipal election, and while I know you have your right to privacy, that bit of information would be very edifying.

For my part, I will tell you who I am going to vote for and why. I am going to vote for the Democratic Alliance. For all her eccentricity, I think Helen Zille is twice the man than JZ will ever be. I have no colour affiliation and I don't think the DA has either, and I don't think it had when I first supported them as the PFP in 1988 in opposition to the NP.

I think the ANC (now) does have a colour affiliation and that turns me off completely, and is rather mired in controversy, which the DA isn't.

And please don't bring up the toilet saga, that was pure politics and politics at its worst.

Either way, I would like to know who you are going to vote for and why. That is up to you.

Back on thread. I think that JZ's remark was insulting, insensitive and completely in keeping with his persona. Pure deflection.

Thank you. That was informative, and taken into consideration. I will take it and cogitate upon it.

And, the economy with relationship to the strength of the Rand over the last few years, and your views on a strong / week rand?

And, who are you going to vote for in the next municipal election (I have shown you mine after all)?

And, do you think that Mr Zuma could have been more transparent and sensitive in his response to the poor lady who has no electricity, water, house etc.?
