Zuma makes apartheid aside

Look the whole question of whether it was a joke or not is almost a moot point. It was in bad taste and basically a slap in the face to a supporter who took the time to post his question. To say it's just a joke is like someone saying slaves were just sub-human anyway. It's not a joking matter.

It was also recently demonstated that 5% of white South Africans are unemployed. You have a better chance of getting a job than your average European, Australasian or North American.

And with that said it can still be so much better. But spitting the dummy as if nothing is being done right and to get yourself all defeatist and cynical and worked up is not really an intelligent way of going about the future is it ? Especially when your gripes are in fact not nearly as valid as you might believe.

I have no idea whether half of what you have posted is indeed true, so I will take your word for it(Although I find that employment statistic hard to swallow, link pls.).What I mentioned were indeed just a few issues we are currently facing, employment is not the only factor for white people that makes a country worth living in,lets not go into crime(which is probably apartheid fault too).

It still does not make up for the failings of the ANC and their penchant for Blame Shifting(which is very much the African way).The only reason the ANC is even getting a few things right at all is because of the infrastructure and economy left behind by the evil previous government, and the current over taxation of white people to fund the ANC's fumbling.

It can only last so long before SA falls flat on its overly-entitled face and becomes another failed African country that chased its whites away(albeit deliberately or unknowingly)
 
Sprachs you are right ... all along I've justt been looking at things from the wrong perspective.
Because of what the government has done for education , along with their policies on AA and the "percieved" crime problem in SA, I have very little competition in my proffessional life. Many of my peers have left the country and there are just not enough well-educated youngsters willing to spend the time learning the skills I have . As a result, I probably earn a fair amount more than I probably should.
This allows me to say with conviction:
"What crime??" There hasn't been an incident of crime in my secure complex in our affluent boomed off area in ages
"What health crisis??" the medical aid I pay has ensured that none of my family members has ever had to wait in long queues or even been been treated with disrespect at any of the exclusive private medical facilities we have visited
"What lack of service delivery??" Where government services haven't quite lived up to my expectations , I've just got a private vendor in to do the job properly. Everything from installing a UPS and generator to having the paving outside my house repaired to having fresh spring water delivered to my front door.
"Unemployment ??? WTF is that???" See my comments above re my remuneration
"Who needs decent public transport?" My luxury german sedan wafts me between work and home (when I'm forced to visit the office) in absolute air-conditioned comfort

So I'm sure you'll be happy to know, I can honestly say I haven't even noticed that infantisimal drop in living standards you mentioned in one of your previous posts

Bah im so over this idiot. Whether he is joking or avoiding makes no difference. Many truths have been spoken in jest. Regardless of how you hear about a topic, it will still cause it to be refreshed in your mind.
If I say Rhino poaching, it puts a certain picture in your mind. If nobody mentions it for a while, the chance that its fresh in your mind 2 months from now is quite low. But all someone has to do is mention Rhino poaching again and presto, preconceptions are fresh again.

These are just simple reminder tactics, to remind the "Victims" of the previous evils done. To direct their attention away from the terrible delivery that the ANC have.

Even said as a joke, it still accomplishes the same goals, and its still a slap in the face to those intelligent enough to recognise it.

It's this tendency to sweep Apartheid under the rug as if it played no part in the current state of the country and that people have no right to moan about something that had a huge negative effect on their lives that is callous and insensitive but mostly invalid. Rooster, let's get real here. This has got precisely zilch to do with whites being unreasonable and expecting utopia after 17 years of ANC (mis)rule.

This has everything to do with whites being slapped in the face at every opportunity by his royal highness the double-decker-shower-headed buffoon and his party of hyenas. When do you see white people stepping up to pro-actively defend apartheid?! It's a defensive mechanism, Rooster. Whites are reminded on a daily basis that apartheid was bad. They're reminded daily that the colour of their skin is synonymous with the country's (ironically) dark time. All that white people are saying, and again, I repeat, all that they're saying is that they're tired of being the scapegoat! Most white folk are perfectly willing to do their bit to make this country a better place so long as they're accepted and if the ruling party were even half as willing or bloody-well willing in the slightest then you would barely ever hear of peep of complaint out of utopia-seeking whitey. Of course it takes time; we all realise that but if you think we're going to sit here with zipped traps while this bunch of good-for-****ALLS robs the country blind and points fingers then you're sadly mistaken, my feathered friend.

Laughing at something does not always mean that you find it funny. Have you never been in a situation where you laugh at someone and not with them. That laughter had an undertone of "haha, what a Douchebag". Joke or not, my previous statements still stand. Its simply tactics to constantly find ways to remind the people of appartheid.

In what way is it becoming less significant ??? Whether the tax base is 4 million or 10 million, we remain taxed. It matters to each household. There are no reductions in the tax rates.

We certainly don't agree that we're going to fall on any faces. This prediction has been failing for 17 years and in fact South Africa is thriving and showing no form of letting up. Even before that , Nobody can say South Africa is close to as bad off any people were suggesting it would be if we got rid of Apartheid.

Did you read the article from Business Day I quoted?

Let me repeat:

- Life expectancy has declined from 65 years to 53 years since the ANC came to power;
- In 2007, SA became a net food importer for the first time in its history;
- The elimination of agricultural subsidies by the government led to the loss of 600000 farm workers’ jobs and the eviction from the commercial farming sector of about 2,4-million people between 1997 and 2007; and
- The ANC stopped controlling the borders, leading to a flood of poor people into SA, which has led to conflicts between SA’s poor and foreign African migrants.

There are some potential dangers we will need to overcome. Populism, tyranny etc. The best chance of avoiding these things is to keep the people happy and feeling their lives are slowly improving. Which their votes suggest is the case.

Currently, the people are being 'kept happy' by social grants. Hence the votes going to the ANC. What do you do if the money for social grants dry up?

3. Identify the exact cause of your hatred and the underlying reasons behind it.

Just remember, Black Trash, Oom Stoffel believes in free will for all. But when your free will causes bleeding eyes for others because they have to read your comments, that's when I need to step in to restore some balance.

It's okay to be proud of being who you are, blackness and trashiness and all. Just please don't let that pride morph into such terrible feelings against everyone who isn't black. That's a little too trashy for our liking.

I agree. The laughter had an undertone to you while to me, the laughter was no different to other times people laughed during the speech when Zuma joked.
 
You can't take the Rooster too seriously. If he found someone who held the exact same views as him, on everything, he would still disagree with them. He enjoys argument more than he enjoys agreement. Agreement is not stimulating, it is not challenging.
