Pre-paid pricing comparison (June 2012)

Am I not understanding something, or does it seem like prepaid is cheaper than being on a 24 month contract. If that is the case, why am I on a contact then???

You are absolutely correct. Cell C is however planning to announce new contract pricing soon ;)

Depends. Some contracts have discounted subscription and handsets included. On some topup contracts you are allowed to buy data bundles with the inclusive airtime. So overall you could end up saving money compared to buying the handset cash and paying extra for data bundles.

But yes, the 99c for real tariff has significantly reduced the benefits of being on contract.

Am I correct in understanding that Vodacom's prices are merely promotional, while Cell C's are not?
Also, I fail to see how MTN is the most affordable. In the table comparing actual call costs, they didn't end up anywhere near first.
And what value does 8-ta add that makes their almost 3x the cost of the other operators worth it?

People need to know that Vodacom is a complete rip off. They still charging R349 for 2GB while Cell-C and MTN are much much cheaper... Dont even get me started on 8ta and how affordable they are.

Note: Im not talking about data contracts. People want to add data to a SIM as bolt-on.. They dont wanna sign up contracts to "cheap" data rates and then lock you into that!!! idiots!!! :mad: People fall for it! :cry:

Actually, it's MTN have the most expensive data bundles. For example, for R49 you can get 75MB on MTN whereas Vodacom you get 100MB. For R149 on MTN you get 300MB and Vodacom you get 500MB for just R10 more.
 
8ta is the only option for data if u have coverage. Wouldn't touch the others with a barge pole!

MTN 2GB R189

Vodacom is R349 for the identical 2GB package valid for 60 days

And please dont talk to me about nightowl. Most people dont sit using there phone in the middle of the morning, its a retarded PR ploy. Only valid for people who stay up and download for whatever reason.
