Hi there

I am often sitting with an unstable connectivity, and from last night without Internet access, using an Afrihost’s capped ADSL account.

Is anyone else experiencing the similar problems?

Have you tried using an ADSL account from a different ISP so that you can narrow down whether it's a problem with Telkom or a problem with Afrihost?

Indeed - no problem on the other account.

Truly sorry to hear that you've been having issues. Could you PM me with your details so that I can have a look at what might be the problem. We'll get one of our experienced techs to investigate ASAP :(

Some more info. Two picture's below. One on Afrihost 4mb Capped service, one done on other ISP 4MB Uncapped.

I have called Afrihost many time's. Line has been tested, modem changed, filter's changed, Telkom physically put new DSLAM port.
I went to some friends who i put on Afrihost and with their devices experienced the some issue's!

It not my device as on 3G or Other ISP/ADSL no problems.

We've logged an issue with our network engineers to investigate if there is an issue on the network. They are currently testing and we expect some feedback very soon.

Please PM me so I can give you more info as soon as I receive it. If you can also copy and paste these trace in test in the PM, I can add it to the query.

As of this morning, my Afrihost capped has also got major problems - on local speed test:

Afrihost: 101ms 1.05M/0.41M

WebAfrica: 53ms 3.45M/0.37M

Look like we're back the same issues of a few months ago.

And as of 2:30 pm, suddenly it's back to full speed again.

I recently switched to Afrihost capped from my Telkom 5Gb capped account. The speeds are good all the time, congrats on a good network Afriman.

One gripe is the high latencies to Europe, I can barely play Diablo 3 or Path of Exile now, because of the high ping (anywhere from 400-1500+ms).

Thanks for the compliment, though the latency issue is worrying. Latencies to Europe should never be above 300ms ideally, and generally that is not the case. We are having some latency issues in Cape Town which are busy trying to isolate.

Can you drop me a PM with some details?

Hi, latency seems to be sorted out now, getting sub-300ms from late last night.

General issues relating to Latency on the network (from the Cape) were resolved some time during the afternoon yesterday, and most reports are that latencies and pings are back to what they were and streaming gaming is back to what it was.

If you're still getting these poor results, we'll need to do some troubleshooting. Please drop me a PM so we can chat about this :(

Still issues here in Durban with afrihost. Again if I use a trail ISP no problem but with Afrihost issues with loading pages ect.

Is there anyone else on afrihost in Durban, kloof/Gillitts?

I'm still having problems since mid may with my afrihost account.

Our team are still looking into this and they should be in contact with you with some feedback. I'm sure we can find out what is happening :(
