iPhone vs Android vs BlackBerry vs Windows Phone on Vodacom

Expect that 3 mil to drop like a hot potato the moment BBM for iOS/Android comes out. Esp after the BIS/BES changes take effect.

Get the Apple Store sorted out and remove the ridiculous restrictions and limited apps and NO games...and maybe Apple sales will increase...

I still dont understand why all the rules and limitations with the apple store.. when the Android play market is a similar product thats unlimited...

Kind of not 100% true.

Only added options for Android, is the Games section, and that the FPB is working on to ease the road for content providers like Apple and Microsoft. Android still suffers from the lack of books, music and films thanks to our laws, and even struggle more so, as you can not simply register a US account to access the block content.

Strange drop in Windows phones - 15 000 in 2 months?

You haven't used one that is why its strange

/duck

The drop is most probably from Windows Mobile phone on the network. The drop gets picked up by BB, Android, iOS and Windows Phone combined.

I reckon the availability of stock, or lack thereof, has a lot to do with the iPhone's sales figures. I've never had the pleasure of walking into a store and finding stock of a recently released iPhone!!

I actually still have a HTC touch diamond (running windows mobile 6).
Hated the F****** thing. Put me off touch phones for a long time.
I still use it occasionally to test sim cards and connectivity.

Also the reason why I have avoided the latest windows phones and why I am going for Samsung now.
Sick of Blackberry, so slow to reboot, slow on internet etc.

Does the Android figures include phones from lets say Dhgate? I understand that vodacom can detect what phone you are using on their network and that this article is not about the phones vodacom sold. I personally have to have a Dhgate type phone, not lugging two phones with me (sim1 Vodacom sim2 mtn uncapped) and to have the battery last 3 days is a HUGE bonus.

Google apps's dirty adds on all free apps is a downside.

ghetto style

Google's ads are targeted, so you are getting dirty ads based on your search/browse/email trail :D

There is an option to turn off targeted advertising, maybe that will work a bit better for you ;)

The technology on that phone is so outdated, you can't even compare it to what is available today. It's like etching marks into a rock compared to writing with a ball point pen. Even the lowest-end Android phone is about 10 times better. Touch has improved vastly since then. Give it another go. You won't be disappointed.

Maths 101:
Android: 25% increase
Apple: 50% increase

I think the high price of Apple phones is what's keeping their numbers low. I cannot justify spending that amount on a phone, that is why I bought an Android.

People seem to be very set in their ways with phones. Lots of people I know when upgrading just get a new Blackberry without even thinking about it.

So suddenly in the last 3 months the iPhone has sold half as many as it has since the iPhone launched, years ago? I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it looks ... strange.
